With on-going errors, and problems that were eventually worked on (and still a problem, but significantly more bearable now) - Last Epoch is more than playable. The initial negative review and the numerous ones across the steam store page show that live service is simply not the way, and it has been revealed that clear issues with development were swiftly ignored, and simply? The story isn't complete.

That set aside, Last Epoch mechanically, and in terms of respecting your time, character customization, item chase, crafting - it's all five stars. My main complaints are with general performance and simply lack of content, but only when compared to Path of Exile. This game certainly has more longevity for me than Diablo 4 did, and it only slightly falls behind Titan Quest and Grim Dawn, both heavyweights in the genre.

If you're tired of the deep crunch of Path of Exile, and want something that feels more traditionalist; give this game a try. It is the perfect bridge between the simple and complex, and I do genuinely love it only second to PoE. I'll be playing it every Cycle alongside, most likely.

tl;dr - Last Epoch is a welcome entry in the ARPG franchise, and if you're looking for something in between the simplicity of Diablo and complexity of Path of Exile, Last Epoch cements itself perfectly for time to come, so long as EHG stick with it. Full endorsement!
