I'm over 50 hours in and technically still haven't reached end-game on my first character, there's so much content here it's genuinely impressive; this ARPG released in 2016 that looks like the Overlord series graphically is beating out Diablo in like every way possible. The graphics look bad but in reality they're heavily stylized and as soon as you play the game and see it in motion, it looks perfectly good, the class building is top tier and both easy to grasp as well as having immense complexity, there's so much damn loot and somehow most of it has genuine reasons for me to consider using it, the world the game is set in is interesting and very enjoyable for anyone who likes grim dark stories/worlds.

If you're looking for your introduction game to the ARPG genre I think Grim Dawn is a great starting point, it being almost entirely single-player and not relying on seasonal content means the game is always going to be easy to get into and completely lacks any sense of FOMO you could have in regards to "League" or Seasonal content; you can try the game, get busy, come back months later and be no further behind than when you left. Even if you're just looking for something to play to scratch that ARPG itch while you wait for your main games new League or Seasonal update, Grim Dawn is still a fantastic way to scratch it.

Peak 2008-2010 game you convinced your mom to rent you at Blockbuster or Family Video cause you thought the cover looked cool.

I was into the game and ready to play it out until a sock puppet with a stereotypical cutesy high pitched annoying voice showed up.

Also when the game showed me it's real hand in the form of the Level Adventure guide or whatever it was, a leveling up screen that gives you different rewards for reaching a certain level; doesn't sound bad until you realize there's a paid "PREMIUM" part of the pass. Well ok that's annoying but surely it's only cosmetic items rights? Nope, the premium pass contains items that make it easier and faster to level up. So you wanna level up and upgrade your items and abilities in a timely matter without grinding your ass off? Pay up ♥♥♥♥♥. Throw in the bog industry standard battle pass(which exists entirely separate from the Leveling guide or whatever its called, so open up your wallet pay pig) and you have a game that clearly only cares about it's players as piggy banks and nothing else.

Honestly this game can be summed up in the immortal words of AngryJoe:
"♥♥♥♥ YOU, GIMME MORE MONEY"

This game is like if you took a game from 2008 and gave it a serious face lift, in the best way possible, seriously just buy it.

Let me preface by saying this, if you are new to 40k or don't understand the lore at all; you don't need to in order to enjoy the game. The game does a fine enough job to explain what is going on, you'll only miss out on a few in-jokes and references. Also, if you're expecting a stellar or seriously in depth story than you're looking at the wrong store page; this game is peak 2008-2012 mindless fun in the same vane as Gears of War or the OG CODS.
Which is really all you need to know in terms of the game-play, it's super fun, simple and easy to understand; if all you care about is the game-play than just know it's the best part of the game.

The story is serviceable at best and if you're not a huge lore head I can see how alot of the stuff that happens late game will be lost on you, but if you have even a basic understanding this ♥♥♥♥ is some of the coolest and most outrageous ♥♥♥♥ possible in a 40k game. Honestly that's all there is too it from the campaign side, it's there to introduce the world of 40k and Space Marines and it's a fun mindless romp you can play through at your own speed.

The online operations is where the game truly shines, the customization level of your own Space Marine is insane, you have a huge array of different perks, weapons, equipment and classes that you can play with to your hearts content. The cosmetic customization of your Space Marine is insane, you can color basically any part of your armor in whatever color you want(as long as you unlock the color first however), if you wanna make your Space Marine a hodge podge of every color in the rainbow you can and then some; and if you're a lore head there's a good chance your super obscure Successor Chapter nobody knows or plays besides you is in the game as well.

The level of detail this game has makes it very clear that this was made by fans of Warhammer 40,000 for fans of Warhammer 40,000, every little detail you'd think they'd overlook, they didn't.

If you're a fan of 40k you've probably already bought the game, but if not than know that this game is 100% faithful and shows the proper respect to the IP you'd hope for.

(Unless you're a Firstborn purist than get ♥♥♥♥♥♥ ig lol, Primaris for life.)

(Also if the negative reviews seem weird it's cause they are, most of them are people who either over value wide screen support and think it makes or breaks an entire video game, have a moldy potato they call a PC and are upset it can't run the game(just upgrade already dude) or are just rage baiting.))

Guild Wars 2 is *probably* the most Free-to-play and casual friendly MMO currently available on the market and is by far the easiest MMO to get into and play.

By far the easiest way to explain why GW2 is so much better(in my opinion) than other MMO's is to just compare them and see what GW2 does differently and better.

*The entire base game of GW2 is entirely Free-to-play, outside of a few QOL features like being able to mail money, there is no base game restrictions for New/F2P players. You have access to the entire OG story, you can get to max level, you have access to the ENTIRE base game map, etc.

*There is no class role restrictions or really any dedicated class role, there is no such thing as a Dedicated Tank, Healer, or DPS in GW2. Every class can do everything and while some classes are better at those things, you don't NEED to play say, a Heavy Armor class to tank; infact one of the beefiest classes is the Necromancer, a LIGHT armor class.

*GW2 has a Horizontal Progression compared to Vertical Progression other MMO's employ, what this basically means is that NO OLD CONTENT/GEAR/EQUIPMENT/ABILITIES BECOMES OBSOLETE. There is no such thing as a "Gear Treadmill" in Guild Wars 2, you can get to level 80(max level) buy an exotic armor set(the 3rd highest level armor) off the in-game market and that gear is and will ALWAYS be valid FOREVER. While there is armor levels above exotic(Ascended and Legendary), they are in NO-WAY required to do 95% of the games late game content, including expansion content. Ascended armors only purpose is 1 type of content and Legendary armors only purpose is Drip and a QoL improvement since you can alter the armors stat line whenever you want. Also armor stats stop improving at Ascended, Legendary is the same exact armor in terms of stats as Ascended and the difference between Exotic and Ascended armor is minimal, around a 12.5% stat increase.

(TLDR: There is no reason to grind armor/weapons once you have level 80 Exotic armor outside of a small numbers boost, ability to do a single late game activity, and drip; and that Exotic armor will ALWAYS be usable for new content.)

*Guild Wars 2 is DIRT CHEAP compared to other MMO's(that I will not name directly), outside of the entire base game being free, all of Guild Wars 2 expansions(as of the time of this review) only cost $100. While $100 may seem like a big number, if you compare this price to the average yearly subscription of other MMO's + new expansions it is, like I said, dirt cheap; which leads into the next reasoning.

*GUILD WARS 2 HAS NO SUBSCRIPTION OR SUBSCRIPTION REQUIREMENT. There is no monthly or yearly subscription in order to play Guild Wars 2, you play the base game for 100% free, and the expansions are a 1 time purchase for ALL CONTENT THEY CONTAIN. Which is the primary reason why GW2 is so cheap and new player friendly, there is no $12 or $15 monthly payment you have to cough up in order to just ACCESS the full game. At $12.99(the average for most year long subscriptions) a month it adds up to $155 a year, this is NOT including the purchase of new expansions which average around $40. There is no potential worry about not getting your monthly moneys worth out of GW2, if you decide you're bored and leave for a few months you can just come back and pick it up whenever you want with no worries you're burning cash or having to cancel a subscription.

All of these reasons is still only scratching the tip of the iceberg when it comes to GW2 compared to other MMO's, these are only the the big reasons I can remember off the top of my head.

If an MMO with a entirely F2P base game with no level locking, no subscription requirement, no "Gear Treadmill", and all new content only requiring a single one time purchase of $30 to access the ENTIRE expansion doesn't sound like an enticing MMO, then frankly nothing will.
