Great game and everyone who worked on it deserves a free pizza. Definitely worth a gift to friends who missed the cutoff.

Needs a little bit to bake but I always enjoyed eating dough and this is some pretty good dough.

It combines a lot of mechanics from the later modes of Civ 6 that were added like monopolies and corporations and barbarian clans which are fun to experiment with and it's a very very big power fantasy with how broken you can make the game.

The game is also getting patched pretty quickly over the main complaints I had like city states not lasting through the ages and getting run over instantly in new ages so that's a plus too!

I've only played about 20 of the games so far and fully completed 9 of them and I think this game is wonderfully made as every game I've played has been a banger. The amount of creativity here is insane and harkens back to developers having to work within the medium of what console limitations had in the old days. Some of my favorite games that make this worth the pricetag and more are

Grimstone - Classic NES Final Fantasy like RPG where after 12 hours the battle music was still a bop and I was excited to find little secrets and character backstory as I was adventuring. This game makes me want a 16 bit Grimstone 2 SO BAD.

Paint Chase - An arcade pac-man/splatoon combination game with heavy Rally X vibes where improving my scores to get the completionist cherry was a treat to figure out the best routes through the stages.

Waldorf's Journey - A casual side scrolling jump king type game but it has a 2 player versus mode that is just wacky hilarious fun.

Party House - A minimalistic deck builder set to the restrictions of the console that is in depth and silly. Trying to throw the best party while trouble making Wild Buddies pop out of your "rolodex" (deck) to try and have a good time and end up getting the police called on your party causing you to miss a turn. Only good doggos and hippies can save the day!

Pilot Quest - An idle game that progresses while you play the other games in the collection. It has a build up mechanic that turns the game into a 3 dungeon Zelda-lite. Amazing game that will always have you checking on it right before shutting down the console for the day.

I could go on about how I just binged 6-8 hours of Mini and Max's metroidvania goodness and how every game makes plenty of use of only having a d-pad and 2 buttons but really I just want to say this year has been killer for games and even though I've spent nearly 300 hours in Helldivers 2 with close friends I've not gamed with in over 10 years and those times have been amazing. I've got to give my Game of the Year vote to UFO 50.

You will not be disappointed no matter what type of gamer you are and how old you are in my not so humble opinion!

I think the DLC is just conveyed poorly in what you get here but is worth the cost to me.

You are paying 10$ USD (Dunno exchange rates sadly but I hear that is being fixed for the egregious ones.) for...

1. The ability to play as Yogger who is a new Warrior with super unique mechanics that involve stealing buffs from allies or enemies.

2. 5 Skins with more animations to them than the originals.

3. Access to a new pet

4. A new card back

5. A mini lore zone with prebuilt decks and no rewards that you run through to unlock the character and skins.

I see most of the complaints being that people paid for a "boring new zone" but I honestly think it should have been conveyed better that the zone is just a lore drop while the meat and potatoes of the DLC is the new playable character. Perhaps putting the DLC zone 3/4ths through Act 1 may have been a mistake and the lore bit of it should have just been a 4th "game mode" where you can just play through it once for fun and it doesn't invade the adventure map at all.

Still a fun new character and skins but I do want to say that the lore content is NOT the main part of the DLC

Definitely an S tier party game! I can see myself playing this through many times in the coming months/years and the devs really knocked it out of the park with the gameplay, writing and comedy! One of the best 4 player experiences out there!

"This game isn't actually co-op despite advertising it is. Do not buy it expecting a fun time with friends unless you like Kite on Kite PVP!" was my original review but it looks like the developers have changed the steam page completely.

For the price it's a nice little party game for a younger audience and reminds me of Wii era games.

Early Access Review
For 3$ I think you get a fair game for the price. It definitely is still in the very early development but it has potential so I will recommend it. It's a nice little power romp through a horde of enemies sort of similar to a turn based Vampire Survivors, Running around collecting powerups before killing a boss, Not much build diversity yet but the latest patch added some choices and I imagine they will go a lot further with it in the future.

Now onto what could be improved:
-The game could use a better tutorial than a single page explaining everything at the start, Like an option for a tutorial start at game creation that you follow along for the first 5-10 moves.
-The Multiplayer is limited to 2 players and we had a party of 3 ready to try it out. I guessed it would be 3 players since the character select had 3 options on it and there is no information on the steam page (That I saw, I could be wrong!) or any website describing the max number of players in this co-op roguelike.
-Single player is pretty tuned but multiplayer has some massive balance issues as you don't share experience meaning if a ranged character ends up getting most of the kills the melee character can lag behind and become dead weight. Another issue is that there are a limited number of upgrades on the map and they are not shared between players meaning it's more of a competition than a co-operative experience in most cases. Each player should have their own spawns and resources rather than the map sharing them between both players at least for the artifacts/equipment.
