This was an absolute delight to experience.

I had no clue this even existed which is criminal. Mostly due to my own life not being the best and the shaky situation when it launched globally, but i'm extremely happy this got brought to my attention through pretend pewdiepie from norway.

It starts off so light and cheerful in a way and very gradually and very quickly pulls the curtains wide open and you see everything you're not supposed to, and the way that it's done is magical. That's all story spoilers if i go into it too much but my goodness, so many points for story buildup alone.

The gameplay "loop" is also extremely satisfying but it seems like anything that oozes heart and soul with a tetris inventory has that trait in common somehow (reminder to myself to cover more games that have this).

Audibly beautiful, well picked themed orchestrated sounds and musical score that accompany what's happening on screen extremely well. Truly atmospheric in the best sense.

And everything else i'll keep a mystery. This is worth your time if you're into not overly complex games that focus and rely heavily on setting and narrative and that is what this aces so hard.

9 pulsating flesh masses out of 10 mouths of the deep.

A true game worthy of being a sequel to one of the best games i've played in the past decade or so.

Sadly missing a few of the fluff features from the first hoh, and absolutely lacking a certain laserpriest, but without question a truly enjoyable game for just about any demographic.

Biggest plusses are the music as usual, the spritework which carries this game like no other and the entire atmosphere this game does so very well.

In the negative there's a few gripes with minor bugs, some major ones that are being worked on and i hope those will be dealt with soon enough.

This hits good in a really bizarre way. Will take you less than a day but it's absolutely worth it.

Another amazing game that plays great but the devs forgot that people like nice things and didn't prepare for a normal amount of players, resulting in server issues and so forth (which should hopefully be fixed soon ®)

That said, i can't say a single negative thing about the game itself yet. Maybe some mild graphical glitches but that's really all i came across. One crash, few disconnects, nothing too concerning.

I'd have written a nicer review but i'm salty because we're not allowed to enjoy this game due to lack of foresight.

Absolutely ridiculous in how hard this can pull you in.

Played time was in a single day (day off lol) but my god this hits different. Few gripes early game but nothing damning. Solid EA launch, extremely engaging gameplay, will see this one through <3, Wish the mission music had more variety :D

As an absolutely refreshing take on the tower defense endeavor, Role of Hex is a very spicy but engaging take on a concept as old as the chinese wall.

The gameplay is straightforward and nonlinear with a good feel for each upgrade (both per round and meta) and a lot of creative wiggle room for you to play around with.

Currently in a stable enough state to consider picking up but still has a few things that need ironing out (long term scaling and the occasional glitching enemies) but the dev is very responsive and engages with feedback frequently.

Feels like a true passion project from someone that had perhaps several decades to play and learn from other titles, yet doesn't compare itself to any. Almost creeper world vibes in it's presentation.

The music hits home and while limited has a good hum to it.

Enemy design is a little less dimensional than it'd like and some are outright in need of a balance patch.

Good variety, good gameplay, sound design can use a little more work.

6.5/10 as of writing :)

After having this wonderful controller for as long as it's been released, there's notable wear on all the peripherals and spring machinery, so for something that's been used extensively for almost a decade i can't recommend this enough and i'm still sad they discontinued it.

Gonna need a replacement soon, so please valve :)

Once again the video game equivalent of happy pills.
Only issue is zero invul timer after perk picking, which lead to some unhappy deaths.
