The gimmick of this time trial racing game is that every time you do a Mario Kart style drift boost, you get faster. But you keep getting faster, infinitely, if you can chain together your boosts. You even hit the brake the slow down, and you'll accelerate again at incredible speed if you have a high combo. This means the best possible time is one where you maintain a perfect chain through the entire two or three laps. That gets incredibly difficult as your car becomes uncontrollably fast, and you might need an entirely different braking and cornering strategy on your second lap compared to your first.

The result is kind of unique. In most time trial racers like Trackmania, you're wondering how to get one tenth of a corner, and if someone has a leaderboard time seconds ahead of you, you might be scratching your head how to do it. In this game, I know EXACTLY what I have to do to be a whole five seconds faster: Just don't break my combo trying to go through THAT ONE CORNER with a 2.5x speed multiplier. Easy to learn, hard to master.

It could use more tracks or a custom track builder to really be a game I'd come back to for months (for example: Trackmania has HUNDREDs of tracks and this has eight or something), but it's a very fun experience and the price is fair.

Controls great and feels great to play. The difficulty is a little all-over compared to Redout 1 (especially the speed events which are just awful). And yes, the boost system is a little stupid (just treat your health like a second boost bar). I'll have to play a lot more to really say if it's better or worse than Redout 1, and I still might recommend grabbing that game for cheaper if you're new to the series, but I'm happy to have more Redout and I'm definitely enjoying it. Each new track is great to look at and it's fun to go from frustrated with a particular corner or jump, to getting the hang of it, to blasting through them second-nature.

Tip for the one stupid jump on Tartarus: roll first, then correct your position with a strafe. Trying to correct your position without rolling makes you work against whatever weird gravity exists between track pieces for some reason.

Easy to jump into but surprisingly detailed. Scratches the sim racing itch for really perfecting a lap with races that take just a few minutes and no hard learning curve to get started. Recommended for fans of Trackmania as well.

Liked Myst? You'll like this.

Never played Myst? Well, it's less ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ than Myst, so I'd recommend this one.

About 12 hours long, difficulty is just right- a few puzzles had me stumped for a while but not many I'd say were ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. (Tip: Hold ALT to highlight objects you can take! If I knew earlier I'd have saved an hour...)

It's 3D factorio, what more do you want? Well, as far as I can tell there's no waves of enemies and your machines can't be attacked. On the other hand the 3D part with organic belt shapes and the ability to build vertically works very well, especially considering it's still in early access. It's more polished than you might expect for a game like this.

Right now, the game is fun as-is. The campaign is playable and there are constant updates at a steady pace with a clear roadmap. There's also an exporter for BeamNG so you can drive your cars; I feel like this is a must-have if you want to just have fun designing cars without the business side of the game, and I highly recommend that too.

Still buggy but it's MOUNT AND BLADE

Pros:
-Looks a lot better than Warband
-Combat feels better
-Tactical AI is a lot more nuanced, enemy lords will try different tactics against you
-A lot more control over sieges
-Better diplomacy
-Better kingdom management
-A ton of changes to multiplayer that are probably good but I'm still way too hooked on campaign

Cons:
-Buggy!
-Some balance issues
-Certain quests are just tedious (looking at you Spy Party)
-Still get clonked in the head by a mountain bandit's javelin for 92 damage and captured for days (but that's just Mount and Blade)
