I feel less sane after playing this game.

I picked up Deponia based on the trailer vids, lovely art style, and excellent music. The first chapter was quite enjoyable, with some clever puzzles that got you thinking outside the box.

By the third chapter, what had started as a few stereotypical gags was now a blatant streak of misogyny underlying the whole game. As the puzzles descended into opaque trial and error, I was counting on a good story with interesting or at least growing characters to pull me along. Instead the game delivered more woman bashing (as in literally bashing an unconscious woman into things). I had to turn it off.

Then I went and read what others were saying about the game, and I'm glad I stopped when I did, because the series keeps getting uglier: http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2013/11/11/wot-i-think-goodbye-deponia/

I regret the hours I sunk into this game, and that by buying the game I gave support to this kind of hateful content. Daedalic are clearly extremely skilled creators, but until their design and writing grow up a bit I won't be buying another of their games.
