Early Access Review
"Sometimes to fix something, you have to take it apart and put it back together."

(I don't typically leave reviews for the games I play. And, to be perfectly honest, I only bought this game because I liked the design of Ashley Graves. Turns out, that's about as good as she gets. We can't fix her, boys. I am sorry. )

I walked into this game completely blind, and I think that's what you should do to if you've just stumbled over this game by an accident. The story, despite being a little strange, is addictive to latch onto. It's a train wreck, and it's impossible to look away. Don't do your research, don't even watch videos- step inside this universe and see it for yourself.

For the most part, I like to consider myself as a decent human being. This game removes those decent options, and places you in an interactive horror story about a corrupted (and very toxic) relationship between a brother and sister. Even though that might seem like a bad thing, I think it shows what's happening in the minds of the villains in movies, books, and TV shows. Their options aren't the same as someone who intends to be decent. Even though that might sound a little strange, it's actually an unique experience.

Even though this idea might not be unique, the execution of the concept is, and it's not horrible. The story is fast, but it isn't rushed. The environmental changes are appreciated, and the dialog is fun and full of morbid humor. The art work is also great, as a part-time cartoonist, I liked style of the characters, and the expression of moods as it carries different tone for the voiceless text.

My only real complaint about the game, and this is coming from a middle child brother, is the relationship between Andrew and Ashley Graves, is disgusting to me. Even though it adds an unfortunate amount of story to the game, I find myself grossed out by it. I would have preferred it to be a regular relationship. But, I do get the stance for the context of the game. It adds to the insanity/conflict of the story. Even though it does rattle off as typical bother/sister exchanges most of the time, there are some questionable moments in the game.

Side note: It only takes an hour or two complete, I just leave my games running whenever I leave... I'm sure this review is littered with problems, but I'm too tired to proof read it anymore than I already have.

Game is fun. It was technically less buggy than Extraction Point until you start going underground. Usually, if the game crashes you just need to downgrade the settings down to potato and under and when you refresh it launch the new chapter like normal and you skyrocket back up.

This time, however, that did not work. Everything I tried to do did not work. For about 20-30 minutes, I couldn't get the chapter to work. So, as much as it pains me to admit...unless by some act-of-God they fix it, don't buy it...

Yeah, I recommend this game. And I've enjoyed all the other games before it. There's a strange line of thought these days that says; Everything new is bad.

But why is that?

I have over 1,000 hours on Fallout New Vegas, and that's just on the computer. I've also spent an ungodly amount of time on my Playstation 3. The same can be said about Fallout 3. I quickly became a fan of the series, and was dying for the arriveal of Fallout 4. Without any kind of hesitantion, I had pre-ordered for my Playstion 4 and played through it over the entire game, collecting the new gear, making the new guns, getting all the trophies, and went into great lengths in building several settlements that were basically small military bases, spending several hundred hours into the game (And that's not mentioning the other things either).

A year or two later, I upgraded my computer and bought Fallout 4 as soon as I could when it went up for sale (30-ish dollars at the time.) First thing I did was mod the crap out of the game. Dowloaded dozens of things I really did not need, and lost the ability to get achivements. I didn't care that much since I had already (tehnically) collected all of them. Sure, I didn't go the extra mile in building my settlements this time, or searched every location like before, but running it without lag and enjoyed more of the eye candy, I was able to get pretty far into the game once again. Unfortnately, I went back to my Playstation to complete some loose ends on the DLC (Which is all pretty great in my opinion). By then, I was completely spoiled by my high stats and upgraded weapons, so returning to my lesser character was a bit of a downer. Not mention, I had probably hit the 1,000 hour mark once again, finally burning myself out on it just after completing around 90% on the DLC's trophies. . .

. . .I realized one thing though. . .I really, really, really liked the game. I mean...I REALLY liked the game. in fact, I liked it as much as the other ones.

But why? Everyone else had mixed feelings about it. Fans of the series, just like myself went as far to say that they HATED it.

Well, I think that's because I approached FO4 with mindset that allowed me enjoy the game for what it was. . .

. . .I entered Fallout 4 expecting it to be nothing like the other games. I didn't want a reskin of Fallout 3 or New Vegas. I wanted it to be different from the others, completely different! I did this partly for defending myself against a chance of disapointment, however, I already knew that Fallout 4 was going to be drastically conflicting from the other games to begin with.

If you have spent as many hours as I have in the earlier games, you'll probably notice that just looking around isn't like it was in the others. In the first 20 minutes, I knew I wasn't playing any of the other RPG Fallout's, but that wasn't a bad thing. I got exactly what I wanted. A game that was benchmarking the next generation of both engine, and pace.

And before you get angry for this approach, think if Fallout 3 / New Vegas were like the orginal games. Nothing had moved on, it just had a different story, some better graphics, same gameplay. Not too good, right? Fallout HAD to move on -- it has to make a path for whatever *could* be next.

Listen, do not enter Fallout 4 expecting it to be the last two games of the series. Instead enter it expecting the generation of the series instead. It isn't perfect, and now there are paid mods now...But, keep in mind, I was able to have 1,000+ hours in the vanilla game on a CONSOLE. You'll manage just fine a computer.

Don't judge a book by it's cover, that's all what I'm saying.

You get easy achievements and you can gently stroke-- molest-- grope-- I mean pet all of your favorite catgirls. Headphones are recommended, but pants aren't.

F.E.A.R will always have the crown in the greatest horror shooter to be ever made (sorry Doom 3!!). It has amazing atmosphere and matching soundtrack to fill in the empty space between those silent, almost dreading moments... In many ways, it is a true masterpiece because of this blend.

I played it first on the XBOX 360 and was terrified of some moments. Playing it *again* on the PC still proves that the game has enough magic to scare me at times. I’m not afraid to admit I’ve jumped and even pushed myself away from my screen at the moments I’ve forgotten about. The storyline, though a little cheesy, can be easily followed and enjoyed. The original FEAR is also VERY compatible with windows 10, despite it being pretty old now (I can't say the same about the two expansion packs.)

If you are looking for a fantastic shooter with gore and bullet time, then FEAR will satisfy all of your needs.

I've had the game since it was early access, and even when the game was getting a lot of hate, I was one of the people that continued to give the game support (where I could), and kept believing it was going to be great once the full game came out... Turns it, it payed off.

I won't go into the perks or ramble on how the leveling system is like other reviews. Instead, I'll say the samething as I have been saying since it was early acess...The game is fun, no matter if you're playing alone or with friends. The community is relaxed. If you're looking to unwind after a long day, or just finding a way to burn through time; Killing Floor 2 is your game.

Seasonal events make it entertaining, and the weapons turns killing zeds into a art!

Game becomes 100% better when you read the characters stories in third person with Morgan Freeman's voice.
