Hero Defense - Haunted Island is a tower defense game in early acces.
It has both single -and multiplayer modes.

Unlike other tower defense games where you place your defenses on the map,
Hero Defense - Haunted Island uses heroes which you can and have to move on the map
in order to succesfully defend yourself.

There are five different heroes, each with their own abilities.
Each hero is effective against certain mobs which is shown by the background color of the wave tiles.
There is a levelling system so you can upgrade your heroes' abilities and weapons.
In order to do this you need to succesfully defend waves and gather gold from mobs you defeat.

You can also boost your heroes during waves by collecting orbs from defeated mobs and charging them.
There are several charge levels and you can choose what aspect of your hero gets boosted by placing runes.
You can either find or buy runes.

Another way to boost your hero is using shrines. When you place your hero on a shrine he'll get a certain boost.
Some shrines are only usable by certain heroes and some are for all of them.

There are varied horror mobs to defeat such as vampires, zombies etc.
There are also champions which are tougher enemies and also bosses.

The singleplayer mode is a campaign with a simple story.
The multiplayer mode is like the campaign mode but against a human player.
Whoever defeats a wave first gets to punish the other player by sending extra mobs to him.

Hero Defense - Haunted Island is a fun game with decent graphics and audio.
It will require some grinding to max out all of your heroes but the game is fun enough to spend the time on it.
