I bought this game during early release and it was an alright game. at the time... which is easy to skip over... but official release and this game is taken to a new level. the level of immersion in the wilderness is amazing,

you are taken away from your PC into the canadian wilderness. you are walking in the wild and you hear the crunching of snow under your boots, a distant howl of a wolf, and you hastily look around you, seeing if the wolf is near by. knowing that you will lose your progess and have to start all over after you die.

Every day is a new day and new challenge. first day maybe its finding food... next day is maybe exploring that part of the world you wanted to but didnt because you didnt have enough gear, or maybe its gathering resources... what ever it is you cant stop playing...

next thing you know you've just played the game for 5 hours straight..

all games is not without their shortcomings... but this is just a whole new thing... well worth every cent.
