Few games are as immersive,, moving and challenging as Transistor. The music by Darren Korb is such a masterpiece that never once I felt out of the experience.

It's so touching, stressful (in a good way), masterfully designed, beautiful and majestic. This game is one of those games that take complete advantage of the base idea, and do it in a fun and perfect way.

I WANT TO BELIEVE

I understand that some people are not very keen on repetitive actions on a videogame, myself included, but this game somehow manages to make the experience very appealing. Not only it makes a search for extraterrestrial intelligence more enthrawling and exciting, but also keeps you pushing forward to getting a proper signal. Every new signal you get is a surprise box. You WANT it to be aliens, even if most times it isn't, but subtle clues and a grounded environment surrounding you pushes you forward.

Not only that, but having a radio with you takes the experience with you. Whether you're hearing a NASA Podcast/Press Conference or just music makes you feel like a SETI agent. In addittion, the progression system makes you feel like you're getting closer to finding aliens. It is a bit of grind, but let me remind you that we haven't found any sign of life, so you, the player, have it more easy than a REAL SETI Agent.

You WANT to find out the answers, you WANT to get THE signal, you WANT to DRINK MORE COFFEE.

YOU WANT TO BELIEVE.

8/10

The game is overall good, but the recent patch has rendered it unplayable and slow. I'd come back in a couple months to see if the things have improved, but YouTube streaming is slow, and loading takes forever. The interface is extremely buggy and even worse, they wiped all of the playerbase progress.

Still amazing. A bit too short, but still amazing as hell.

You loved HL2 and its mechanics? This game steps the enjoyment 10 levels up, and it's a timeless classic along with Valve's (classic) games. Too bad HL3 is not coming out, but this game, along with the entirety of the Half-Life Franchise, is worth every single penny of your wallet.
