So, Cube World is finally out there. But what's the big fuzz? People are saying that this game went in the wrong direction since the alpha, making it "complete garbage", "a bad rpg" and "completely content-lacking". Although you could argue for and against these points all day, I am just going to give you my experience:

The game has definitely changed since the alpha, but I wouldn't say for the worse. For example: Leveling up your character is now based on what items you may find. This definitely makes it stand out from your standard run-off-the-mill role-playing game. But Cube World is not WoW and it's not Fallout. Cube World has a practically infinite map, which no other RPG game of this era has. It has to deal with the genre in a new way, so that you experience the whole game as a challenging experience. If you were to get OP from the start, you wouldn't be witnessing any accomplishment in exploring the rest of the game.

This is where Wollay included the now controversial, item region-lock. Every region (or biome) has their own set of items which only work within them, where if you move to another region it downgrades your items to below 1st level (out of 5). Some people may think that their stuff is completely lost, but no, it is just saved in a separate inventory, which you can access at any point. Returning to the region allowed you to use it normally again.
I personally don't see the problem with it. Every region has just become a new and engaging challenge for me, which has kept my spirit going through my (still incomplete) playthrough. I have yet to experience every type of biome, but that is because there are so many things to do in just one region. It doesn't even feel like a grind with the well-polished combat sytem, weighing skill above gear in most cases.
I have played 32 hours of this game so far, and my character is still only level 10. It doesn't seem like much, but I value every level with great respect.

I might need to mention that levels are determined by the ammount of artifacts found. Artifacts are the only things that still have use out of their region. They work in all regions, giving a slight stat-boost to a wide variety of skills such as climbing, swimming and hang gliding (to name a few).

As far as the pricing goes for this game, I think it has been overpriced just a little bit. I gave 20€ for this game, but after playing it, a price of 10-12€ would have been far more appreciated. I get that it is a "6 years in the making" type of deal, but if the developer says he's been depressed for most of it, it's kinda loose credit.

I still recommend this game. Though maybe get it on sale.
And one last thing is:

"Greetings..."
"Do you have any pets?"
"I have the CROCODILE."
"CROCODILES are so cute!"

If you take into consideration that this game was published 2 years ago, you really start to see how much potential was lost during the making of the game. When you see a game with a simplistic style, you want those graphics settings to be on point as well. I'm not saying the game runs like crap, I'm saying that I'd rather sacrifice some frames than look at this all day, grinding away. The learning curve in this game is basically a solid wall rather than a curve. The tutorial is more of a guide on how the mechanics work rather than actually helpful, it makes you go through the menus and craft some stuff. This still left me confused as hell. The game can take you to an 8 page beginner's guide, but from there you're in the dark. "What do I do?" , I heard myself say after reading. After exploring a bit and getting poisoned to death, I started to realize how much design potential had been lost. Some places there are swarms of flies, but these flies are just completely stational with no animation what so ever. It looks hideous, and from the start of the game I could barely tell if it was night or day because the lighting was done so poorly. The settings menu is a pain as well. The game launched in a window with very small resolution. But I when I attempted to change the resolution, the buttons seemed unresponsive, and I had to click multiple times just to let me switch to the next resolution.
If you like poorly designed grinding RTS games, this is the game for you. I just didn't find any enjoyment or uniqueness in this game at all.

4/10, "Meh"

Good game overall, but i do not like the fact that you need to wait 24 hours, just because you played a couple of competitive matches and won. I've not recieved my rank yet, so i hope it's worth the wait.

Bought this because of my Initial D obsession.
+Nice driving
+Runs good
+Cool cars
+Fun when you get the hang of it
-No proper dual-monitor support
-Just this, a car-game about drifting, so it gets boring after a bit.

Lambda Wars is a real time strategy (RTS) game, set in the oh-so-popular Half-Life universe. The game reminds me a lot of Company of Heroes, (wich i absolutely love) and looks like it borrowed some of it's components, but with great execution.
I've played alot of the game, and loved every bit of it.

And BTW, i just wanna say that this game has wonderful techsupport. Played with Mr. Darkness in one game, i told him about a bug that i knew. The week later, it was fixed:

So, In conclusion. I love the game, and can only suggest you play it. Both for the experience, but also, try to play it with your friends! It's fun as hell! Especially if you've started a week before them!
