Game of the year

Got to date all the magical girls. Got to pet a dog too! Ending was unexpected and I really liked the story line, 10/10.

You can name citizens, roads, and even seagulls!
A really good game if you have a lot of time on your hands, or just enjoy destroying what you've built.

I really wanted to like this game, I enjoyed refunct quite a lot and this game looked pretty similar but with more levels and slightly harder. To start with, the graphics are great... until you start to move. It's hard to see where to go and don't even get me started on using multiple jump pads, its like the higher up you go the blurrier everything gets, until you miss the next jump and have to start all over again. Also, the graphics on the third level have like beams of light everywhere as part of the design, which make it really hard to find the next checkpoint, second level was the best for being able to see clearly, in my opinion. The game is also super inconsistent, you can jump off the same jump pad twice and get complety diffrent boosts. The same with the platforms, some times you can jump off a platform, othertimes it sends you down into the water, which, will reset you back to the last checkpoint you cleared, which was probably the most annoying feature to be honest. You also have to complete a level once you start it, you can't save it and close down the game, then come back later, this wouldn't really be an issue, apart from you can't speedrun the level. Unlike with refunct, where you can pretty much take any path to reach the next checkpoint, with Ascendance there is a certain path to take for every checkpoint, you have to figure out where it is and then carfully take the time to reach the next stage. The game has a lot of potental, and I wish steam had a "Not recomended in its current state" option. The concept is great, but then again you can't really go wrong with 3D platformers...

Amazing sound track and super relaxing, the achievements are pretty easy to get and the mechanics are great.
