Ah, Orion Prelude. One of the many online horde shooters I've experienced. The game was fun at it's peak during 2014. Unfortunately with the community leaving it to perish, this hidden gem is sit here to collect dust. I remember the days that this game would constantly have free weekends when the price was still $3, getting people to buy it and give it a try. Now, with this tag of 1 dollar to play it, I would still recommend people to get it because it's the bare-bones framework of a horde shooter. There are fun memories stored in this game for me, unfortunately time has taking this gem as a victim.

Early Access Review
"fun game, gives me vibes from Risk of rain 2 and borderlands 2. - July 13th, 2020"

Present Day: May 16th, 2024

Back in the day when I had bought this game due to it peeking my interest, due to being on a kick for a certain game type. Art style reminded me of how Borderlands 2 has it's cartoon-ish art style, just like this has it's own art style it follows (I don't know the name of the style). During the time, it was in early access and as every rogue-like there will always be a reason to go back replay a game.

I will say this: When you get momentum in this game, it is hard to play cautiously.

Many ways to play and I do still enjoy the game, whether I'm with a squad of friends or just myself.

This is game is a masterpiece. So close to reality that it's scary for the warfare. The story is amazing, the graphics for it's time is beautiful. The "Second Game" called "Homefront: The Revolution" was supposed to be a the sequel, but has ruined the name of this main game. Such an amazing game.

This game is easy to pick up but hard to master. Very fun, FREE and cross-platform between PC, PS4, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch (yes, you can play this with a game cube controller and the game will think it's a pro-controller). Community is toxic as a fair warning, but chat can be ignored easily. Oh also, you could customize the background of the game via mods which wont impact performance nor game play for both players, this is only for a map's visual change, not to gain an upper hand against the opponent. Have fun!
