PDV- Planar Dopplar velocimetry, more primitive version of PD
ACM- Air combat manuver, it pretty much only looks at what your crosshair is looking at, lesser range and it is always in a state of trying to lock
HDN- Head on, self explanatory, does well in headons, meh to terrible in other aspects
SCR- Screening mode, it just goes and looks around for targets which appear as blips on your radar screen
You can have a combination of stuff, ie "PD SCR HDN", "PD ACM HDN" etc.
If you dont see "PD" or "PDV" its a prmitive radar thats vulnerable to chaff, but it cant be notched
All radar is sensitive to ground clutter.
PD and PDV are best in headons, even if it doesnt have HDN its naturally better in headon as PD relies on the speed difference between the plane and its surrounding, and in headons that difference is MUCH more obvious
