This game is actually great but I'm gonna give it a thumbs down because it doesn't work out of the box and you need a mod to fix it, which is just absolutely ridiculous on top of the need for extra DRM.

The Ode to Castlevania DLC made this game so much more compelling and I'm always pointing at the screen because of the awesome references. My favorite part: no Lords of Shadow

The game looks awesome and the soundtrack is pretty good, but unfortunately it's not fun to play. I did sort of get it for free so I guess I shouldn't complain too much, but it still felt like a waste of my time.

Stutters frequently on my computer despite the fact that my specs are way above the recommended, the cars feel weird to drive, and the story seems lame (which to be fair is a NFS staple but still). All in all, not a very good first impression, I went right back to Most Wanted (2012) after playing this.

This game is honestly pretty great, barring ♥♥♥♥ like Vergil giving a demon woman an abortion via a sniper rifle

This game is weird.
If you're here for some good SRPG gameplay, you may want to look elsewhere because using the newly introduced auto-battle system is maybe way too good, especially if you take the time to modify your units' "Demonic Intelligence", and will get you through almost every battle in the game.
On the other hand, if the thing you enjoyed from the previous Disgaea games was building up your character(s), then the new Super Reincarnation, D-Merits, and Karma systems are a lot of fun to play around with.
As for the story, I was pleasantly surprised: the main character Zed is great and the side characters aren't annoying like in Disgaea 5, although you might think it overstays its welcome because it seems to have the highest amount of chapters out of every game in the series.
The presentation, however, is kind of rough. The new 3D character models don't look that good, literally every special attack animation takes place on a flat featureless ground, and the normal attack animations look kind of awkward. The music and art is still great as usual though. Also, there's some technical issues: sometimes the game will just freeze for a solid 4 seconds during combat and if you alt-tab the framerate goes to hell.
In conclusion, I would recommend buying this game on a sale if you're a fan of the series or if you want a high rent Cookie Clicker-esque kind of game.
