If you're looking at the reviews, I assume you've heard nothing about this game.
The screenshots on the store page are all jungles and deserts but lemme tell you, you will get tricked into walking around the Vatican for 8 hours. If you love art history, archaeology, exotic travel, and/or if you hate fascists, this is THE experience. the perfect combo of Wolfenstein's Nazi-killing-run-and-gun and Metal Gear's stealth action. movement through the environments is very fun, especially with the novelty of the whip. It feels very fluid.

Troy Baker does a great job immersing you as Indiana Jones. the story, music, and performances are perfect extrapolations of the films. There is a genuine emotional through-line that has been missing from previous Indiana Jones games.

For a Todd Howard game, this is a remarkably stable experience. no major glitches or crashes.

I played through with moderate puzzles, and was pleasantly surprised with the challenge. totally manageable but relies on your ability to think like Indy. Enemy combat is a little annoying when they have guns (forcing you to stealth), but punching is IMMENSELY satisfying. I love bonking Nazis with hammers.

The world around you feels very alive. Indy will overhear conversations in foreign languages and hear requests for items littered around the world for you to retrieve. For example a painter looking for her paintbrush, which you just saw on top of a piece of art you photographed for a quest.

backtracking through dungeons doesn't feel like a slog either. no dungeon is so long that you couldn't walk through it in a couple minutes, and every dungeon has a back exit or loops around to the beginning. Indy's constant comments on his surroundings added a lot to my experience and appreciation of the work the developers put in.

The companions are not annoying. They will not give you ammo or consumables like in Bioshock Infinite. They will however help you in combat/stealth, avoiding traps, or navigating temples. Gina, the main companion through most of the game, is very capable but will expect you to take charge like Indy would. If she is downed in combat, you'll have to wait for her to recover. No mission failures unless Indy dies, which is nice.

I was incredibly excited in the run-up to this game and I am so glad it turned out so perfect. Cannot wait for the story DLC.

POSTED: 25 OCTOBER
Yes, I played the OG when it first released in 2001, and it’s remained one of my favorites to this day. I’ve listened to the soundtrack more times than I can count. Hell, I used to listen to the game rip before bed just to relax (you know, the industrial noises that sound like “rocks banging around a washing machine”). None of that makes me an expert on the series, though, nor does it even matter. Silent Hill 2 isn’t the same game that was released in 2001. Sure, there are aspects of the original that I prefer and don’t believe can ever be fully replicated, but Silent Hill 2 is a good game. No…it’s a GREAT game! And that’s WAY more than I expected to say when it was first announced two years ago.

Summary
Campaign: 15 hours of loreful hack n slash fun.
PvE: Fun with friends, but undercooked, linear and clunky
PvP: Fun with friends, but bare bones and unbalanced

I recently replayed Space Marine 1, and the sequel is a much better game. The visuals, sound and feel are all spot on for a Space Marine fantasy. However, it doesn't quite achieve everything it sets out to, and its secondary modes fall short of other similar games.

Campaign
This is very much a 40k story, with writing reminiscent of a black library novel. That is both good and bad, with the over the top sclock, bravado, action and machismo you'd expect. The grim reality of the Imperium is acknowledged, but on the whole it leans closer to glorification than critique.

The gameplay is a continuation of the first game's mechanics and feel, with chainswords and plasma guns feeling suitably impactful. It is highly linear, without meaningful choice and very little exploration. Being combat oriented and straight to the point is very Astartes, but would have grown wearisome if the campaign were any longer. The scripted executions are similarly timed to stay interesting right up to the end of the campaign, but perhaps not much longer.

There are obvious missed opportunities here. Like the vehicle levels which have placeholder cutscenes but don't let you control them, or terrain destruction which happens all around you, but you can't actually change.

Still, overall it is an enjoyable romp over a couple of days

PvE
This is the bulk of the end game replayability, and the customisation will please many tabletop fans. However it has some key limitations. It doesn't have the visual depth or gunplay of Darktide, nor the endless variety and replayability of Vermintide or Left for Dead. This is a much more linear experience where you replay the same maps over and over. You do get variety from the different classes and upgrades, but progression is largely cosmetic or minor stat buffs.

Beyond the limited number of maps, skills and enemies, there are also pretty limited number of weapons, with quite a few slots having only a single option. You're likely to get dozens of hours of fun here, but maybe not hundreds. The repetition of things like execution animations which started to show in the campaign will become very clear over repeated play throughs of these levels. There is a roadmap with more content, lets hope there is enough in the pipeline to keep the juices flowing.

PvP
This is a throwback to a different kind of multiplayer, back to the days of unreal tournament or halo at a LAN party. There is a very low time to kill, and strong reliance on team coordination. There are only three maps with three game modes, so the replayability here is again limited by content availability.

PvP will be fun to play at launch, and if you have a crew together, but may struggle to drag people away from the hero shooters and mobas of the world long term.

Conclusion
This is a fun and brutal distraction for a few dozen hours. For some it will be a realisation of their childhood fantasy, for others it will be a gateway into an addiction they didn't know they wanted. It is a great entry into the set of warhammer games, and a worth sequel to a fun game. It won't revolutionise the industry, but it does show that going back to basics and delivering what the fans want is a sound strategy for a good time.

The game was fun enough for the time I played it, but the fact that it has two kernel-level anti-cheats (seriously, TWO!?), and that the EULA openly admits to them gathering and sending off all your data, without even so much as an attempt at anonymization, even while you're not playing the game (oh now it makes sense why there's a second one), is absurd.

It was fun, but not "have full access to my computer and everything on it" fun.

I will recommend this game to anyone willing to listen.
The story is so good and the voice acting is incredible.
This is the first game i can safely say is a 10/10, I have nothing bad to write about it.
Everything is perfect, from the soundtrack down to the voice acting!
If you get the chance, buy this game and play it for yourself, and you will not regret it!

If you enjoyed the first game, you will love this one. They have taken everything the first game did well and improved upon it. That being said, there are still some issues with the game. When you enters large cities such as Vernworth, you will lose frames. I consistently drop from 60fps to 30fps within Vernworth. I have seen many creators say this is a memory leak issue that can easily be patched later, but I am unsure of the truth of that claim.

In regards to the micro-transactions: It is unfortunate that they exist, however, every item apart from the character edit item is extremely easy to obtain in game. By simply walking around with pawns you will receive wakestones. You can find port-crystals throughout the game, and they respawn in new game+, allowing you to place one at every location you could ever want to travel to.

The gameplay is top-notch just like the first game. It has exciting combat, fun to fight monsters, and the pawn system is extremely fun to use. If the fps issues are a deal-breaker for you, I would wait a while before buying the game to see if they fix it. But the items you can buy through micro-transactions are entirely unnecessary and you are wasting your money if you buy them. If you are worried about messing up how your character looks, download the free character creation tool and spend as much time as you want perfecting it. The character and pawn you make there carry over to the game. If you are worried about choosing the wrong class, don't be, because you are meant to try out every class and you can swap at vocation guilds.

TL;DR: Gameplay is great, there are some fps issues that need to be fixed, the micro-transactions suck, but all the items you can buy with them are unnecessary to the game.
