This game offers you 2000s graphics, movement jankiness you'd see in the 90s, and a developer who can't accept personal responsibility.

Maybe there is a reason they are all "ex-developers" of actually good games.

You know that basic thing that every game that has servers does to allow people to play with their friends?

Well in this game, if you want to play in a server with just you and your buddies and not get nuked by cheaters or have the server wiped whenever the official servers decide they don't like the server that day, you have to RENT a server.

And in their most recent update, they are now saying that it is only "being considered" and that they "can't share more details at this time" because their "primary focus right now is delivering an awesome 1.0 launch".

Yea, so thing about that is part of that "awesome 1.0 launch" is not having telezombies (which they have already said is not going away) and the ability to host your own server.

If both of those things are not part of 1.0, the game sunk at the "Horde" update. Have a lot of hours before they decided to make the world less immersive and more arcade-y. Have zero hours more until I can play on a private server without having to pay a subscription fee that is NOT listed on the store page.

People are saying that the game is getting DDoS'ed and the servers are down because of it.

I'm of the opinion that the servers are down because they reached max capacity (Similar to what happened to Helldivers 2, but on an astronomically smaller scale) and now the people trying to play are (Inadvertently) DDoSing the crap servers that were the reason for my original negative review.

This is what happens when incompetence reaches its conclusion. Maybe they'll actually fix their servers this time around, but my bet is on just riding out until enough people lose interest that they can prop it back up.

Mods download at max 4 MB/s (I can download anything else at 100 MB/s, so it's not my internet).

Get into a game, get immediately kicked when you spawn for "flooded", no details on what that means. Get to join back in only to get kicked again 7 minutes down the road for "stalled" (again, no elaboration). Then get thrown back into the queue that I just waited 20 minutes to get into on a server that is running at an abysmal 10 fps (it tells you right at the top).

If this is a tech demo for Arma 4, thanks Bohemia! You saved me from buying it.

Oh, and those 2.5 hours I played in the last two weeks?

- 2 hours downloading mods (Didn't even get to join those servers because the queue was full)
- 20 minutes waiting in queue.
- 7 minutes playing the game.
- 3 minutes with the game open browsing discussions to see why nothing has improved since the release of this garbage.

A short, simple game that has some fun little mechanics that escalate rapidly.

It fills a small time slot, is cute, and certainly is worth 3 bucks.

Apparently ARPG means that you are guaranteed to not be able to login on the exact time that they said that you would be able to.

Diablo has done this for years, and it looks like PoE is now making sure to keep the tradition going.

Be sure not to stay logged in waiting for the servers to go live, otherwise if it turns out to be a steaming pile you still can return it before 2 hours gameplay.

I have almost 600 hours in the base game and have never launched a rocket. Why did I buy this?

Because the factory. Must. GROW.

This is the perfect example of what corporate greed does to everything.

Takes something awesome, strips it to the bare minimum, resells it as an "upgrade", and then walks away.

Thanks for ruining something awesome Take-Two. And all of the people who failed this project at Private Divison and Intercept Games.

Another Bohemia Interactive game that sold something to users and then made it free.

Difference for this one is that if you paid for it, you get - and hold on to your britches for this one - a soundtrack!

The same one that is available on other platforms for free already and that I am sure that people who paid money really feel is worth what was spent.

Ylands went free to play after charging and now they have a starter pack "DLC" that people who paid don't get for free.

Something is definitely going wrong over at the Bohemia Interactive HQ.

Step 1: Sell a game
Step 2: Make the game free to play
Step 3: Add a "Starter Pack" to the game that is not included for those who paid for the game

And that's how you get a negative review on your game! It really is that easy.

And the devs missing the point in their response is... *Chef's kiss*

They edited their original response, and still miss the point. Obviously DLC is optional... What isn't optional is requesting a refund for what I paid for this game before it went F2P and added micro transactions and removed pretty much all of the fun the game was before.

Just like when this company decided to release content for DayZ as pay to play and then switched it to free after a time, giving those who paid for it free access to a music track; one that can be found free online many places.

My plan is now to just not buy anything Bohemia Interactive releases and just wait until it becomes free.

Every other game: "We are working on optimizing our game!"

Gray Zone: "Your 2 year old graphics card is crap and you have to mess with advance settings in your PC to be able to have 30 FPS, but you'll still lag because of the 210 ping. That's on you."
