Not to say there's some kind of universal arbitrator of balance
but the amount of times I've met someone apparently free of my hang-ups,
Who can socialise at ease,
Who can sleep all right most nights,
Who can get through the day without reverting to the occasional bit of cheeky suicidal ideation,
And I've been so jealous of them, tried to imagine how lovely and restful it must be living in their head,
Then we've gotten to know each other properly and it's become blatant they're bearing crosses I've never even considered,
A fear of dogs,
An eating disorder,
Growing up with a strange or unloving parent,

There's just no way of exiting childhood unscathed, huh, We all come to the table broken.
