good game... but ow... The frames... please give them baaaaaaack.
I cannot play the game like this...

UPDATE 1!:
The frames seem to get better after the tutorial, absolutely playable... Will update when further through the game. Also the game is awesome, having a great time with it.

UPDATE 2!:
There is simply a lot to love in this game. There are a lot of nods and references to the official canon lore to Battletech. The combat is wonderfully smooth and the weapons sound powerful. The hardest part about playing this game is to remember to outplay your enemies and not just charge in feeling like a god of battle. The sound design and music in this game are great and have easily kept me immersed. The voice work isn't the most amazing thing, but it is serviceable to its needs. Easily more care put into it than most modern games. I wonder when we can get more story DLCs or if we can get a "Galactic Conquest" mode some day for this game. Would love to see more playable mechs added as well.

My friend bought this for me for a singular dollar. And I feel INSULTED. This 'game' is pathetically bad. Physics that are disgustingly stiff at best, and terrible at worst. You can find better racing experiences in bargain bin PS1 games. Do NOT buy this garbage, and if you have, I feel absolutely sorry for you.

Easily the best EDF we have gotten! This game is absolutely phenomenal! So many small gameplay tweaks to make it feel fresh and less constraining! The menu and UI remaining the same may be seen as cutting corners but the menus were fine to begin with so I will give that a pass as they didn't make the menus worse like some games tend to do.

Things like the style of the menu and even the menu music changing based on where you are in the story is such a nice touch and makes me love it more. An absolutely big recommend!

It is just not fun... everything feels the same, even when you try new classes and races... you aren't able to even build your character your way because of the fact that skills and levels are automatic... it is unfortunate that a game with this much promise amounts to cardboard...

Against all odds.... against all forms of reason and logic... They somehow made this game worth playing again. Arrowhead... Please... do not ♥♥♥♥ this game up again. This is an amazing gem hidden among a sea of shovelware and Triple A trash. Please. Make this a game build by the developers and shaped by the fanbase. Give us the game we want and the game you can be proud of.

It has been really rough so far, but you have seemed to have learned a lot and the game has changed for the better... Keep it going.

not great, wish more of the story missions were more than just bring one mech... The new weapons and mechs are fun. And especially if you play without mods, these new pieces of kit are really fun and add a new level of mech building. The arena matches are fun and add potential conflict in areas that are your repair points. This means you don't need to spend an extra 100,000-300,000 credits to go from repairs to your next mission. The AI is ruthless and really forces you to use your environment to your advantage. Personally, I like this as it means you have to think of how to best utilize your mech rather than running straight out into the middle of a large group of enemies.

The quest difficulty isn't too bad. Outfitted my King Crab with twin LBX 10s and the new PPC X and an LRM 15 for good measure. Was more than capable of tearing through the quests, provided I moved and used cover efficiently.

as much as I did like the quest though, may not play the quest itself very often as I cannot enjoy it with my friends. The arena missions are a fun addition and more stuff to collect and build keeps my attention. All in all, a 7/10 DLC, not bad, pick it up if you want to get a bit more out of the game.

BOTTOM LINE:
It's a good game!

from just running around and exploring to building a systematic base of efficiency, there is a lot to do, and every part intermingles with another, creating a wonderful balance of survival and exploration whilst also balancing base building to keep everything moving forward. Has been amazing fun with friends. Looking forward to what comes next.

not worth, wasn't worth it, will never be worth it.

friend gifted this game to me so I could play with some friends.
Installed it, had issues launching it but got that fixed.... (It messed with my PC settings and switched my sound settings... annoyingly.)

the settings menu is.... lacking... rebinding and even changing resolution or windowed mode didn't change anything.

Set up a room for me and a friend to play and.... he loads in just fine, and my game times out and freezes, trying to load a map. And my PC easily meets the requirements for the game. Currently trying everything I can to get this horribly built mess to actually ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ function so I can actually PLAY it and leave a review, if not, this review will stay and I will be getting my friend a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ refund. This is trash and no player should have to go through this.

Any advice or fixes welcome, and sorry for the anger, this is the first game that has ever caused problems like this and almost soft-locked my PC.

Great fun, but it wears fast... the courses are really short and some of the checkpoint placements guarantee you will hit a cone and receive a penalty. Customization options are nice but limited. Controls are simple, too simple for a game like this... fine controlling is not possible here. I was really looking forward to this one but unfortunately, I did not have a good time.
