Yes... Absolutely yes...

I have nothing bad to say about this game at all... First time playing made me feel 10 years old again, the excitement of booting up CnC for the first time ever - and playing it..

This is arguably the greatest homage ever made to a great game..

Tempest Rising is going to be in a league of it's own... Are RTS games back? This one says YES!

Yes... It's good, it's roguelite tower defense - should have been explored a lot earlier - but I'm super excited to see where Nordhold takes it in the future!

Drop by twitch if you got questions!

Ain't nothing wrong with this game, not entirely sure why it's getting ragged down, it's good, functions well and plays beautifully.

Karens and their review bombing gotta stop. Get a grip people. Drop by twitch and ask me anything.

I want to recommend this game - Not for what it is now, but for what it will/can become.

Let me put it bluntly, if you're buying this game now, don't buy it for the strategy side of it, it's non-existant, and horribly imbalanced. Archers don't do anything, mercenary units (That the AI recruits at least) are constant and he will overwhelm you non-stop. There's no Cavalry, there's a half-finished development system, 1/5th policy system and a "production tab" with no information in it. Looking at the pre-alpha video above, it's hard to understand why so much awesome stuff has been cut away, or why so many things are missing - And why regiment size is only 36?!

I really don't know how to continue staying somewhat positive here, but I will try...

If you're buying this for the city-builder aspect of it, like Anno etc. Then get it now, it's wonderful, it's beautiful and it's great.

There's a TON of features not implimented yet, there's placeholders and things that all together just don't do anything.

For instance, building a great big manor is all nice and well, but if your enemy marches by, your towers, garrison etc, don't do anything, cause they're technically not there.

It's hard for me to choose between yes or no on the button below and my opinion may change later - however, I feel, trust and believe in both the developer and the publisher - this game will deliver everything that we want - it's just a question of when.

Let. it. cook - Buy it now, and play it once or twice, then wait for the updates to hit... There's about 6-8 hours of gameplay right now in the game.

TL;DR: I cannot recommend this game as a strategy game, not yet - but I can recommend it as a city-builder. And that weighs my review more to 'no' than 'yes'.

So, my first 3 hours?

Not bad at all. Performance is a bit stuttery but not a deal-breaker.
Yes, I was sponsored to play the game, but I was going to purchase it regardless as it was my type of game.

The game is quite certainly the definition of early access - a lot of animations and stuff isn't really smooth, there's a lot of jank here and there, but I think we have a basis for a real damn good game.

The developers abandoned their previous project, true - but they have also been open and candid about this one, and I think that's fair. (The interview as to why they abandoned - and started a new project is out there, really, just google it.)

All that being said, I plan on giving this game a full play-through on twitch tomorrow, so drop on by if you have questions and want to know more!

I'm not entirely sure where I stand on this game...

On one hand, I didn't play the first, and I know that's a detriment in some ways, because I'm not 'familiar' with the playstyle or the game itself.

However, when it comes to the game itself... I feel like it's just.... not made for PC at all..
Controls are wonky with keyboard and mouse (Granted, the game even pops up saying "hey grab a controller, it's better!") but that just... doesn't justify it to me. I know, I'm pretty set in my ways, laugh all you want.

Then there's the camera motions, the movement, feels... janky, clonky? I don't know, it just feels *Off*

In a singleplayer game.... What exactly is the reason to limit your characters weight to a mere 25-30 kg worth of items? Loads of people are hoarders, we wanna loot everything, craft everything and do everything... To me, it takes enjoyment away when most of the game I have to waddle around cause I'm 50kg overweight and gets agitated when my pawns take loot. (great mechanic though!)

I ABSOLUTELY do not understand the idea of losing maximum HP by simply running around and exploring, what the actual **** is that mechanic? The longer I'm running around exploring, exerting myself, fighting etc, the more maximum hp I lose? WHY for the love of all that's holy am I being PUNISHED for playing the game extended amounts of time, to the point a goblin can sneeze at me and I die - going back to the games last autosave?!?! Seriously?! WHY?!

I really wanted to enjoy it, but these things are just... massively detrimental to what I'd call a good game.... Maybe someone will grace me with some mods to fix this, maybe not... Either way... It's gonna be a no thanks for now.

Oh... and then the flipping last second microtransactions... Stop flipping out about it, you earn massive amounts of them ingame by simply just playing... - but it's still a bad move to drop them on a game that already costs 60+ euro.. jesus F christ capcom...
