I wish there was a 'mid' option - because I enjoyed the game...but it's nothing special.

With very little 'spice' to it, it's mostly a mouse-clicker/therapeutic time waster/organizer game.

By /no/ means is it bad! It's definitely worth the 3-5 bucks it is asking for, but I just wish there was...more...

They claim to be doing Terminals and free updates, but I have no idea who to trust anymore in this world with companies promising anything ever. That's not the fault of the dev team, but just the world as a whole.

TL;DR - 10/10 This is SUCH a fun game - and is more than a cleaning simulator. It also has a lot of other really cool game elements - like platforming, investigating, looting, and completion-driven goals.

ALL THE WORDS:

Do you like Viscera Cleanup Detail? Do you savor Power wash Simulator? Do you enjoy A Little To The Left? Then this is the game FOR YOU. It also has a really cool narrative with a reason for why you do what you do. It can be REALLY sad, though - so that really sucks... but it is what it is. The overall game experience erases the nastiness that is the plot line, and I can ignore it since once you get rid of the bodies, you don't really have to think about it anymore.

There are lots of cool things to find - and a few are Zelda-like quests to get. Some of them, you have to snoop around and find out - and I love those. Then, there are literally some RIGHT IN YOUR FACE, and you think nothing of it until you're on your third play-through and you realize you messed up, so you have to clean the same space twice (I don't like game guides. I like to play it myself - it is painful, but worth it).

I really love this game, the art-style, the level design, and even the characters. The settings are believable, and the layouts make it fair (but tough) to be able to clean things accordingly. I really appreciate they didn't just put a spout somewhere because it would make the game easier - the location for water spouts actually make sense, and I cannot stress how much I admire that.

They really took their time with this game, and it shows. It is worth EVERY. PENNY....and would be worth more if they would just add some DLC. I'd love to play some more levels in this set-up. It's done so well.

TL;DR -- The value you get out of this game is more than I could ever hope for. Not only are the graphics updated, but there are new game mechanics.

10/10 - the replay value for being a "re-make" of an established game that I played TF out of is astounding.

ALL THE WORDS:
There are new game play elements, new graphics and physics (that snow globe you guys made?... *chef's kiss*), new characters, an over-all new story that ties things far better together, and new pieces of the puzzle to figure out the original stories plus some new lore.

If you loved the first game, you'll adore this. If you didn't like the second game because the story heavily relied on the grasp of Engish pros - then you'll love this. It spells it out for you this time - and you still get all those tasty, tasty collectibles, too.

I enjoy re-makes if they have actual value to them like FF7 Intergrade and Silent Hill 2...and this game has that value AND THEN SOME.

If you look at my history with the first two games - I have MANY hours on them both, and I believe both are to completion....and yet, I still bought this and have found even more joy than I did before.

Super worth the money...especially for the new game mechanics and features. 10/10. It's just as good as the Silent Hill 2 re-make, and I am stunned by its low price point for what you get.

This game truly brings back the fury of the 90's when I played platformers as a kid. It's worth the price - especially on sale.

If you get frustrated or stuck - you can always load another file and replay for the joy of it. It is VERY challenging...but it makes me want to beat it that much more, despite the frustration.

Cute, magical, nonsensical (in a good way), and simple fun.

10/10 - fully recommend to anyone who misses a good challenge, and loves old school side-scrolling platformers. Despite how many times I wanted to throw my controller....I find myself going back to the pain.

TL;DR
Amazing work worth the 70 dollars they are asking for. You can tell this is a labor of love, and it was something made by fellow fans of the game.

10/10. If you have some disposable income this month - spend it on this game if you were even /thinking/ about it.

ALL THE WORDS!:
I wanted to wait to completely finish the game before I reviewed it - but I am just so floored with how amazing this re-imagination of this story is - and not just that, but the fact that you can tell it was made by people who love the game in the first place.

Bloober doesn't do things well IMO....but this was a masterpiece that they deserve to be praised on. They put lots of time, effort, and care into reviving this amazing story, while not erasing it and 'making it their own' - like Homecoming felt.

This was a beautiful, perfect way to bring back Silent Hill to a new generation. I truly hope Bloober does SH3 next. It is my favorite, and if they were able to re-imagine it like they did here, I'd buy it for 100 dollars.

I love that Akira Yamaoka still does the music for the game, and that even he came back to add some new-era perspective on how sounds work. Still brilliant. Still beautiful.

If you played the original Silent Hill 2, and you're looking to relive the experience, but also enjoy something new - I HIGHLY recommend this game. I usually buy things on sale. I'm frugal - but I happily dropped the 70 bucks for this game because of how many reviews I've read, and how many Let's plays I tortured myself through.

Worth. Every. Penny.

This is the best survival MMO/Mobile games I've ever played. It's creepy, it's fun, it'a beautiful - and it has a fantastic story and QOL system.

Its' free. You put only what you want into it, and I am /so/ thrilled with what I have had the pleasure to 'endure' in this game.

It /is/ a mobile game - so you will run into odd issues from time to time on PC - like the map not loading in right away, or the surrounding areas being laggy. Despite that - I don't care. I'd endure a thousand slow-loads, and a billion disconnections from a busy server than to not be able to play this game.

DO you like MMO games? Do you like open-world games? Do you like SCP? Then stop reading this review, and open the game. Enjoy. Never return to reality again.

Enjoy the madness.

I used to utilize Chill Corner as my go-to 'focus' game. Now it's Spirit City.

This is not really a game - more of a tool, really. It's perfect for helping you stay focused on a task instead of scroll through YouTube shorts and continue to promise it's really your last one - but it's not.

You can set timers, tasks, pose your character, customize your room and appearance - and you get to collect adorable little spirit pets that you can only get by sitting there and being patient - which really means doing the task you're supposed to and then getting rewarded for it.

The music great, I love that you can add background sounds (although I /hate/ the sizzling one) - and you can change the time of day, and the actual atmosphere of your surroundings.

I highly recommend this to anyone who needs help to focus on things. Bonus points if you have a two-monitor set-up, because then you can't really do anything on the other screen, other than play this in the background and write your chapter that is due for your novel >_> ...or is that a little too personal for me?

This product is still being worked on - and according to the devs there are a lot more things to come! I'm excited, and fully endorse this program.

There isn't much that can be said in a TL;DR - but this is my best attempt:

TL;DR: This game is a survival walking simulator in all ways possible. It is tough, unfair, and cruel....and so addictive. Survival is pretty basic and 'freeing', but the story line is a lot more tethered - but worth it. Characters are believable, and you root for them, and hate others. You get a choice here and there - and there is a bit of a 'mystical' feel to it with Molly and Mathusela.

Overall this game is a 7.2/10 for me. It would have been higher, but then I played Episode Four (which you can read below if you want to know why I hate it so much). Chapter four is so bad that this game that once felt like an 8.7 got knocked down hard for that abomination. It's a travesty, and I hated it with a passion. I really wish I had stopped at Episode Three where I felt good about myself.

ALL the words:

First off: **PREPARE TO WALK**. I mean that. You will walk. You will walk everywhere. You will try to run, but running sucks and even when you're not layered down with gear, you don't go very fast. I like walking simulators, man - they're my jam - but there are some points in this game where I just hit the W button and did something else with my life - not even kidding or being hyperbolic here. I just straight up either looked away, or loaded a bowl or something. You. Will. WALK - and it will NOT be the quick, easy, or streamlined path you want it to be. Cry about it, because it won't get better. Then dry those tears and loot stuff, and then kill some wolves to make you feel better.

The Story is broken down into Four Episodes so far, and while all of them share the same mechanics, they do have different 'flavors' of fetch quests. The best way I can do a comprehensive review is by Episodes because some are better than others, and you'll understand why.

SPOILER WARNING AFTER THIS POINT FOR REALSIES. NO WANT SPOILERS? NO READ! I'm not putting a giant black tag on this for those who want to read it so they don't have to hover their mouse over it or re-click it when they scroll on their phones.

EPISODE ONE 9/10 [Frustration Level: Minimal to Medium] Great set-up, and perfectly helps you ease into the game. A tutorial without a tutorial, really. It's really well done, and it doesn't feel preachy, but it also won't give you 1, 2, 3 instructions that pop up every two seconds. It's nice and balanced.

You get a feel for Mackenzie and Astrid, and you meet a nice lady with a story line that makes you cry. It also sets up a nice back background for the small part of the world this takes place in. You /will/ fetch - but of all the areas of the game ( and this episode in general), this one is the most forgiving. You will never be treated to such a fine, streamlined map again. Embrace it, take photos, buy the postcards, because you'll miss it when you're gone. Chapters two, three, and four start to give you longer stretches of walking distances, and puts you out of the way a lot more, but it's pretty standard.

EPISODE TWO: 4/10 [Frustration Level: Medium to WTAF FREAKING EXTREME. Don't break your PC or quit. There are better days ahead...kind of...]
Such a great story line - but such a brutal survivalist mode, even on easy. You will hate every part of this map, and all the things you are asked to do. EVERYTHING IS OUT OF THE WAY!!! EVERY. THING. You cannot go an easy route, because /something/ either blocks your path, or the devs just made one-way to the area you are looking for. Blizzards blind you, and you never seem to shake that F*DF*GD Bear!

The final chapter of this episode is the absolute WORST. It isn't fun. It isn't easy. It made me want to buy a bear skinned rug just for the novelty of the fact that I finally beat that F*DFJGF Bear. I hate bears now. I hate them. Bears on unicycles, bears on balls, bears at the zoo -- f*** bears. This game ruined bears for me because of Doom Bear from The Long Dark. Doom Bear is evil. Doom Bear is annoying. Doom Bear wants to watch the world burn - he's a psychopath reincarnated into a Bear. That's how sh--ty the last chapter in this episode is. It literally ruins the rest of it like a festering wound.

EPISODE THREE: 10/10 [Frustration level: Medium to Annoying at times, really upsetting if you aren't prepared or hate escort missions. The entire chapter is an escort mission. I am so sorry.]
Okay, but the story line here is the best. You actually feel like you've accomplished something, and you feel more attached to people. This story is from Astrid's POV - and while the town is pleasant for sure, the rest of the map is not. You will get lost -- but the side quests are actually a butt-ton of fun, and you get little lore episodes of 'tall tales' you can explore about things in the area like a glowing stag and whatnot.

The wolves get annoying in this level, but they're manageable if you use the right supplies and keep what you need. They're big pansies if you shoot at them a few times - but don't let them get near you; they bite. Now, I enjoyed this one the most because I enjoy being given tasks that involve helping people. That being said....you don't just rescue one survivor...or two.. or even three... No. You rescue FOUR survivors in the wilderness, and carry them to safety on your back. If you think they're close by, you're adorable. Even if they are, those wolves come after you.

....and yet.... I still loved it. I felt like the HBIC out there. Saving lives, kicking ass, taking names (literally), and fending off the innocent from the wild wild-life. I loved the heck out of it.

EPISODE FOUR: 0/10 [Frustration level: Stupid. Just. Stupid. Everything is stupid.]

I hated this entire episode from the first to the last chapter. I hated the characters. I hated the plot. I hated the quests....and I hated losing my gear ALL THE TIME. You know what I hated most of all? I hate being a lap dog to bad people. IDGAF about realism - don't make me do bad things for bad people. It's not fun at all. The side quests were lame and boring - and I didn't do the body-fetching quest...because why would I do that?

It was also pretty impossible to explore outside the paths you were given, and most of the map is filled with empty caves, tight spaces, and lots and lots and lots of slow movement.

OH - and top it all off, you get to be chased while a fire burns around you without any gear -- so you know -- so much /fun/. You don't even get revenge. You feel like you accomplished absolutely nothing, and you're now nothing but a patsy who wasted your time.

I see what they are trying to set up here, but I am so over the convict angle of all apocalypse genres where the good guys are scientists, and the convicts are just out there having fun . . . for fun . . . Like.... they don't even get fortified. They're just... super-villain bad. Hell, they make Donner sound like a super villain instead of a person, and it's obvious you run into him next game as the 'big bad scary man'.

I hated it. It ruined what could have been a rather nice story plot that didn't have to get complicated -- but no -- this trash pile of an excuse for a "chapter" is disappointing in every way possible. You don't even get connected to the people on "your side".

Watch someone else play it. Just skip it. It sucks so hard, and it's not worth your time. I loathed that episode, and nothing about it makes it better in any way, shape, or form. It ruins the entire game as a whole, and really takes away the realism for me. The fact you never get the choice to just not return to Blackrock just utterly p*sses me off. Good person or not, no one is going to return to a prison filled with convicts to save a stranger's life who later sells you out.

HATRED. HATRED IN MY HEART FOR YOU, CHAPTER FOUR! It sucks for life. It's not fun at all.

I hate everyone now. Leave me alone, I'm going to my room - and NO I don't want dinner - just leave me alone! >:(

This is one of my favorite franchises of all time. It's relaxing, it's fun, it's a little challenging sometimes - and it's so great to play with my daughter.

any Devcat game is worth the price -- but this one is the best by far. There are some amazing inside jokes and call-backs to past games, and a lot more to explore and look at. My first play-through was only 4 hours long, and I plan to do it again because...Cats... I love cats.

Fofino and the team really outdid themselves this time! Thanks for a 'purrfect' game, everyone!
