The First Order is a military junta that emerges in the Star Wars sequel trilogy, following the fall of the Galactic Empire. It's a neo-Imperialist movement that seeks to restore the Empire's rule over the galaxy, operating from the Unknown Regions. Led by Supreme Leader Snoke initially, and later by Kylo Ren, the First Order wages war against the New Republic and the Resistance.
