A wonderful addition to the Half-Life series. A company such as Valve creating a mainstream VR game is likely to help push more AAA studios to make games for VR, and get more innovation and optimization into the gaming scene.

On a lower note, even with Valve pushing Steam Play, Proton, and SteamOS, the game has come out natively to Windows only. It's the easiest game I've gotten to work with Proton, but with Valve pioneering the Linux gaming scene it would have been nice to have native support for Linux. On Linux the game has a high chance of crashing whenever it loads new portions of the map, or in level transitions that would otherwise be very smooth. Currently I am unable to enter the Quarantine Zone as the game crashes upon loading.

for such a detailed game i'm surprised that i got upwards of 1000 frames per second

Wonderful game. I haven't encountered any game-breaking bugs, and the developers seem to be supportive of modding.

Only minor gripe is that menus and movement get a bit funky with room-scale VR.
