Within the first 10 minutes this game was tugging on my heart strings. I don't write reviews very often, and I am going to preface with this, this game IS AN INTERACTIVE MOVIE. I pay $10-12 for movie tickets around here, so $17 for an interactive movie was worth it to me, but this is all subjective. I also am a total softy who gets very into stories so if you're not a person who cares much or finds yourself attatched to characters easily, just SKIP NOW!

The game puts you in the shoes of Hank/Henry, a man who's wife was diagnosed with early onset dementia. You attempt to work through it, take care of her, but the burden becomes too much. Her family steps in to begin taking care of her, distraught, and confused, you notice an ad for a job. You take it. This job is a Firewatcher.

The game throws you in already with your heart strings tugged on, and greets you with the beautiful wilderness. The game is all performed in a first person perspective, full body for maximum immersion. You look down, you got legs. You're greeted over the radio by your boss Delilah, who you end up forming quite the emotional bond with. You will laugh, you might cry, you'll feel the tugs a normal relationship comes with, including possibly upsetting her and causing her to step away for a few. As the game goes on Delilah notices fireworks being shot off, the park on a fire watch this is obviously a big no-no. She sends Hank to check it out, and the game progresses from there. Things get weirder, and weirder. I don't want to spoil too much as I don't believe in spoilers and think media like this needs to be experienced first hand. The game plays itself like an interactive indie thriller with AMAZING voice acting and beautiful scenery. With this preface and synposis I'll list pros-cons, please keep in mind these are all subjective and just my opinion!

Pros:
+ Extremely well done voice acting
+ Beautiful scenery, seriously, the colors, the lighting
+ A narrative that leaves you emotionally invested to the characters and their stories
+ The performance was outstanding for me, but on a 980 TI this is to be expected.
+ The game offers plenty of graphical and sound options. The default controls worked for me so I admit I didn't check them
+ A well rounded story with while a bit quick of an ending, one I found satisfying

Cons:
- The game is short, it took me 3 hours pacing myself, but I was using the run key often and not enjoying the scenery as much as I could, I also skipped some trails. I do not find this an issue for the price paid but some may!
- The story at some parts felt rushed, skipping ahead a lot. But as I said, it very much feels like an indie thriller
- I found there to be some lacking moments that could have been filled with more dialogue
- It is hard to completely get attatched characters outside of Delilah, I felt underwhelmed or just uninformed in some instances
-/+ Some people were not satisifed with the conclusion and I assume wanted a supernatural or more horrific ending. Perhaps some more interaction or choices that meant much, this isn't really a CON.. but I thought I'd put it here

I am sure others have many more and or better pros and cons but these are mine. For my $17 I feel like I have gotten my monies worth, I was very satisfied and enjoyed the experience. For others it may be best to wait for this to go on sale, for myself who loves story games and wishes to see more interactive narratives I do not mind paying the full price to support developers and encourage more!

Absolutely fantastic, great writing, great characters, beautiful artwork. Brings me back to days of old, sitting around, carefully crafting my character in Baulders Gate. Taking the introduction in again as if I were back in those days, spending 20 minutes deciding to be a Dwarf, an elf, maybe a Godlike?

This game is fantastic, well worth the price, well deserved. It's easily of Baulders Gate quality and I will be putting MANY more hours into it. With the little time I've put into it so far I've felt genuine sorrow, laughed, and felt that joy in the pit of your stomach when you've found something that REALLY clicks. If you, like me, grew up on BG, Icewind Dale, etc, this is the game for you.

Don't hesitate, just love this carefully crafted gem.

The best CoD in a long, long time, since BO1, in my opinion.

Good port, runs smooth, not the terrible disaster that was Ghosts. Graphics are good, character models/textures are AMAZING. Other textures leave a lot to be desired in some scenarios. Animation quality is top-notch as per in CoD, say what you will but CoD has always had fantastic reloading animations and such, Advanced Warfare is no exception.

Storyline is standard run-of-the-mill but very ejoyable, Kevin Spacey puts on a fantastic performance per usual.

Performance is very solid, everything max'd out, and has some bonus PC features like super-sampling up to 16x!!! Jeez!

Multiplayer is definitely a twist. While, yes, it is the basic CoD gametype, the veritcle-ness of the game really takes a new spin on things. It takes some serious time to adjust too, your enemies come from much more than left, right, down this hall, or that, they're flying over you, strafing around you with boosters, etc. Is it a good change? I think so. Is it an easy change? I have found it rather frustrating, finding myself quickly and easily outgunned by someone flying over me and bouncing off a wall or two, but I do find it fresh. Similar to Titanfall, in a way, but, with less auto-aim pistols.

The gun selection leaves something to be desired personally, and with the new gameplay I can't see snipers being much use, but then again, I never used them.

The character customization is a fun little tool to play around with, and it's interesting to see the combinations your fellow players come up with. "Timed loot" seems to be a new feature, I'm not sure I understand it fully or like it, but it almost seems to be a F2P style feature where random cosmetic items you get expire after a certain amount of time.

Overall gun balance is fine enough, I see a lot of people leaning towards the starter weapons but, the game is new, and I didn't play with anyone over level 30.

The exo-suit and its abilites definitely add a nice little spin, but some seem rather lackluster, the Stimpak health boost lasts for about 3 seconds and might save you from one extra bullet, and the speed boost isn't really anything to write home about, but these are extras, and I don't fault the game for it, they're exo-suits, not mechs, made to assist the body, not control it.

Overall I recommend it hands down over Ghosts anyday, you'll get a lot of game time out of it, it doesn't suck like Ghosts, is overall a solid decently balanced shooter.

Personal review; 8/10

More realistic less biased review; 7/10
