Early Access Review
It only took 21 years buit we finally have a proper mainline F-Zero sequel.

No other game in these 21 years that claimed to be a F-Zero inspired title managed to nail it as hard as Aero GPX did - The handling, sliding, slam attacks, difficulty, track and character design is all good and screams F-Zero instead of Wipeout which is extremely good and appreciated.

It's also incredibly easy to get into, but really hard to master. Just grab the demo if you're unsure but I can assure you that if you're a F-Zero fan this will feel just like home.

This is the shorter and possibly weakest game of the original Turok trilogy while also being the most expensive remaster, that being said I definitely think it's worth it. A really smooth experience with great new graphics that respect the original art style as usual with the Nightdive treatment. You can 100% this game in around 10h, that includes getting all achievements and after that there's nothing to do other than replaying the base game.

There are some bugs here and there, nothing game breaking, and I hope they update the new bonus character to have better attack feedback to the player but other than that the experience is flawless. Great to see the game running at unlocked framerates compared to the locked 60 on the previous ones. The remastered music by the original composer is also a great touch.

Some features are missing such as multiplayer (even if it's just local against bots) and the passwords for secrets although you can still unlock them of course.

Yet another modern game that makes sure good players are punished for being good at the game.

If you're anywhere outside America and happen to be good, have fun sitting in the lobby for over 10 minutes just to find a single match, even on event modes and quick play which are supposedly the most populated. (They actually don't tell you so no way to know). And once you find that one match, have fun dealing with a really bad teammates due to SBMM.

Want to play ranked? Nah, no ranked for you. Takes so long that the game just tells you to look for games somewhere else. Not to mention it doesn't matter if you play ranked or not, your team will still be worse than you & enemy team thanks to SBMM.

Update: New season! And I still can't find games even on the event playlist. Good!
Update: They just made it so in ranked, if you're max rank, you cannot play with more than one friend. Yet again, a modern game punishing good players. Good job.

There's a rampant issue with shadow bans when people mass report you if you're good. You'll get kicked off your games and be put on cheater lobbies until your account is reviewed. For those wondering, that's what the CASERMA - GOODFELLOW error means.

I was first banned on Saturday 17th, during the 2XP event. Unbanned on the 19th, banned again after playing for an hour when I got mass reported by two teams in two games in a row. Back to cheater lobbies now. Literally can't play and enjoy the game I paid for.

Of course, abusing the report system and screaming at the mic of how you should die for "using hacks" is completely fine and unpunished. But beware if you're even remotely good or someone just doesn't like you.

UPDATE 1: On December 23rd, the second shadow ban was lifted.
UPDATE 2: On December 29th, I was shadow banned ONCE AGAIN after getting a nuke. Good game!
UPDATE 3: On January 1st, I'm unbanned from my third shadow ban. Time to speedrun the fourth!
UPDATE 4: On January 2nd, I'm banned with my fourth ban. Good run boys.
UPDATE 5: On January 5th, I'm unbanned from my fourth ban. Time to get that fifth!
UPDATE 6: On April 7th, I'm banned with my fifth ban. And here I thought I got whitelisted!
UPDATE 7: On April 12th, I'm unbanned from my fifth ban. Will I be able to get a sixth?
UPDATE 8: On July 4th, I'm banned with my sixth ban. Happy Fourth of July!
UPDATE 9: On July 11th, I'm unbanned from my sixth ban. Seventh ban, here I go!
UPDATE 10: I just quit playing CoD, there's no point. MW3 also has the shadow ban issues and I won't be giving them any money for this.

The game's been out for barely three days at the time of this review and I already have over 30 hours on it.

Definitely recommend it, really fun to play and run! May seem hard at the start but once you get the hang of the rhythm and try out different weapons and sets it gets *really* satisfying to play.
Gets to a point where the ability and shooting restrictions are just natural and don't even feel them. It may even feel too easy, until you get to the last unlock.
Some items are OP combined with other guns, and there's some ways to cheese the bosses really easily but they're already working on a patch for that.
The soundtrack is great, while running I'm sometimes sad that I don't get to listen to more of it.

After you complete your first run you unlock more characters, each have different stats and playstyles so that adds replay value, and each are fun in their unique way. The last unlock will keep you busy for a long time, that's for sure!

For a game made essentially by only two developers, this feels like a really polished experience with a few overlooks that are already in the way of being fixed. If it's not your type of game, I'd get it even if it was just for the soundtrack! You can even have auto-rhythm and not worry about that if you're bad with it or just don't think you'll enjoy that part.
