Dialogue is reddit tier, the idea of two late 30's to early 40's grown adults from 1989 using phrases more consistent with people aged 18-28 in 2012 is quite jarring and it makes me wonder why they bothered if they cant write dialogue for the period or for that age group. Voice actors aren't bad but the VA Direction was terrible and they don't sound like believable people, just two 20 somethings even though they're supposed to be way older. The entire theme of the game is the idea that people build huge conspiracies and freak out over what really is a simple (and in this case tragic) matter. This would be fine except the glaring plot hole where It doesn't make sense why Ned would startle and antagonise Henry by breaking into his house, and intentionally giving him the key to the cave to find his sons corpse, its not a worthwhile risk to trap someone in a cave when said cave contains the one thing you don't want someone to find . Even if a guy is acting in delusion wouldn't it make more sense out of fear and paranoia to shut off the entrances to that cave? also the grand finale is him just admitting he did it and he'd like Henry to just forget it and ♥♥♥♥ off, it seems incredibly anticlimatic, which is fine but its for all of the wrong reasons and could have been set up better. Bar the writing and dialogue aside, the art style is arguably the only reason to play but even then small lazy issues like clipping when going up shoal slides, animation issues and lazy ways to extend Gameplay I have to say I'm shocked these guys got a job at valve, the writer definitely didnt deserve a job but the art team definitely did. I really dont think its worth the money and its better to snap it up in a sale like i did.

Don't spoil this for yourself its arguably one of the best indie games of the 2010's. Seriously don't read anything up figuring it all out is one of the best bits of this game. It takes about 6-8 hours to figure it all out and even if you dont figure out some of the harder bunk mates with the subtle clues, you'll probably get them via process of elimination. The story is really clever and frankly the fact it was developed by one guy with amazing visuals, sound engineering and a load of talented voice actors just enhances the immersion than most AAA games could dream of. This is the one steam game i'd say you should buy at full price for the devs sake and the experience because its a great and polished little game.
