BUYER BEWARE
Background-
I play DND avidly and love the forgotten realms setting never played the original baldurs gate and am quite the fan of divinity 2

GENERAL FEEL AND STORY
So after looking through a lot of of these 5-15 hour reviews i feel the need to give everyone a complete review since i have for the most part done most if not all quests in the game. I started as a Fighter Half elf and quite enjoyed the spectacle that was the first hour of the game the graphics and vistas were breathtaking, however some issues began to arise quickly, I understand that this is Early access and not a complete picture of features and story but so far it is lacking. After finding the companions i wanted i set to explore the world the characters wee voiced wich was a + but most of them were shallow machines of exposition that lacked any dialogue that would be meaningful in any way due to the opinion system i felt my hand forced due to wanting a good opinion of my companions, due to that my dialogue was mostly a people pleasing selection in wich my opinion didn't really come through. The rolls that are involved in dialogue such as Persuasion and Insight werer terribly broken i saw myself rolling 2's on checks that required 6 to suceed on a character i deliberatly invested charisma and persuasion wich meant that my investment in character creation was rewarded with a broken rolling system wich made me quite angry to the point i wanted to save and reload since these outcomes by a DND 5e player perspective didn't seem to make sense.

COMBAT SYSTEM
Combat was a joy the uncertainty of rolling and hitting made it so it felt like a quickly calculated dnd encounter the SFX were amazing and the music complimented it well the only thing that was regrettable was the lack of variety in foes in the first 10hrs of gameplay. the animations were great and the general feel was very divinity like the spell slot system has never been done and it was well performed in this Rpg the enviroment in this game actually plays a part in the comabt i found myself more then one time destroying platforms or dropping things from above hitting my enemies and it felt great..The stealth is unremarkable and a divinity clone that should've been reworked and remade.

CHOICE
This game presents you with a wonderfully crafted illusion of choice were for the most part the effects of what you do are shallow and no real deep connections or links with NPC's are created i found myself bored of most NPC's and some of the Npc's i genuinly wanted to talk or know about had a limited number of options when speaking to them. I believe that if Bauldurs gate want's to do DND justice or atleast attempt it it must make the dialogue and choices matter to a larger extent to do so i think there should be certain generic options such as GO CHECK THAT PLACE OUT or FOLLOW ME
or ACCUSATIONS INSTIGATING etc.

ITEMS
The variety and amount was acceptable for a EA title and i found myself quite happy with the totality of my looting experience however there were too many items with stupid drawbacks without a reward good enough to justify keeping them and i believe that will lead to a lot of players selling these magical items for quite the large sum of gold either make them more interesting or don't do as many.

MAP
The map looked amazing and it always felt either verically interesting or dynamic such as logs breaking as you step over them and thigns you could break that could crash through the ground

Final thoughs
This is the baby of Witcher 3 Dragon Age and Divinity and that is a good thing

10/10 physics game i got this game 2 years ago no regrets yet

I recoomend this game if you want the story if you play online it would probably be more fun to chew sandpaper

Made a character named Keanu he goes through the land becoming top ranked in all of the arenas and pretty much doing 100s of quests after that i literally am such a good charmer i buy a town for 15k from a lord.Rule over Diathma as the one true god king, buy all businesses and start caravan's make big boy money upgrading town. Everyone loves me and average wealth in toown is rich. Try to get a wife fail x2. Women hate me become simp. Now Simpanus Reeves the thot destroyer. Buy town of the two women that didn't like me. Take their governor posts and give them to my harem of fine companion women. Find true wife Vlandian sugarbaby. Give her troops. she likey. Marry after 2 days. Shes is pregnant by the third day. Idk if seed is strong of if my char is a simp cuck. now have a little girl Aegonia that has all the traits of her mom that are good.Wife captured by Sturgia.... Baby captured by sturgia ..... this will not stand proceed to predatorily prowl their territory and capture all sturgian nobles. Get wifey back after losing all my t5-6 troops on a siege.Cry until nighttime get wife and baby girl back. Proceed to genocide the entirety of Sturgian nobility for the keks in my main city. Life is good . Sturgian starts to fall... so i convince some of the nobles to sell me some of their cities now am lord of calradia
10/10 would be simp again

Is pretty good i guess

This game is a 10/10 roguelike
One of the most purely fun experiences i had in gaming recently

>accidentally potato
>become #1 most wanted criminal in Tamriel
>get killed until bounty disappears
>after 50 hours of grinding need to kill a boss
>waits other 2 hours playing the lute on a playermade queue
>accidently catch ebola by vampirism
>kills boss gets 10 gold


10/10 would steal potato again
8/8 m8 would kill boss again
420/360 WOULD EBOLA AGAIN
