Love it, the game never ceases to impress, and just when you think you have it nailed down it you unearth more layers.

So first things first. The game is fun, and likely you know already if this game is what you want, that being a Fire Emblem clone. If you like Fire Emblem, then you'll likely enjoy the core of this game. It is everything else that needs a lot of refinement.

Here are the things that frustrate me about this game.
- Loading screens: good god there are so many loading screens, and they are really boring to look at as well.
- Narrative: I really tried to care about the story and the plot. It makes no sense, the narrative mechanics they use to tell the story is also very very boring. I skip everything.
- UI: Everything is context sensitive, but no alterations are made for menus appearing under other popups, you will want to move a unit but the move command is listed outside of the screen. Full screen character upgrades offer no information on progressing, leveling up cannot be skipped or fast forwarded.
- Music: Turned off 40 minutes into the game, it is really bad.
- Tutorials: Nothing in the game to give context on anything. Why would I level up one weapon type over another? Why should I pick this class over a different one? What is this armor type? What are the weapon effects? Why do melee characters attack from ranged sometimes? Nothing is elaborated on.
- Meta Game: Upgrading/Promoting units is great, glad they have growth. You can bond units together, great, what does it offer? No idea. You can upgrade "weapons" of the characters, why would you pick one over another? Could not tell you as the upgrade items are so few and far between that if you regret the upgrade there is no turning back. Just upgrade one character, with one weapon and hope for the best.
- ESC button: C'mon this shouldn't be here. You press escape on the keyboard to exit out of context sensitive menus, great, you press ESC too much you go to the main menu. You cannot return to the game again by hitting ESC, why? (I get that its a small issue, but dang the flow is broken every single time I make that mistake).

Things I like.
- Combat: this part they nailed, you expect Fire Emblem, you get Fire Emblem. Each chapter has one encounter and they are normally quite large. I am playing on the recommended difficulty (the middle one, forget what they called them) and the difficulty is a little on the easy side. Min-maxers might get frustrated though, since I just cannot for the life of me determine what one character is better than another.

Conclusion:
Purchase if you want to wade through a lot of bad things to get to Fire Emblem combat. Otherwise wait until they address or fix most of the issues.

A damn beautiful and thematic star wars experience. Fans of dark souls style combat will feel right at home. For me personally the Grand Master difficulty is the perfect complement to my years of souls-like gaming habits.

Worth every penny.

Game feels fantastic! Voice acting is great! Monsters are fun and enjoyable to deal with! Bosses seem to abuse mob spawns too much. Other then that the game is great!
