Lacks polish in a lot of departments, first and foremost some of the animations are just kinda bad, but if you can pick it up on sale it's definitely worth playing.

I was a bit apprehensive about picking up this title because of the bad reviews, but it seems that a lot of people got it in their minds that this game is trying to be like DOOM, while in my opinion, they share some design language when it comes to level design, but mechanically they're incomparable, other than there being a grappling hook, doublejump and dashing.

- Viewmodel animations and bob look very robotic and have an uncanny valley kinda feel to them. Looks like something you'd expect from a mobile game. This was my primary concern looking at all the development footage and it still hasn't been addressed.
- Runs at 40fps on a GTX 1070 at 1080p if you turn FSR all the way up making it look ugly
- Performance DECREASES if I turn down the graphics quality settings
- The settings menu barely works
- All the upscaling garbage I have to turn on to get it to run at above 10fps makes it look like ♥♥♥♥
- Barely animation/ effect feedback if there's any at all when shooting enemies, doesn't feel like you shot them

After tweaking graphics settings for 30 minutes straight I was able to get it to run at 60fps, however the render quality was so low I almost missed the shotgun because it looked like some misc physics clutter with the low amount of pixels being rendered

Just sticking with source engine and adding some PBR shaders would have been better. How long has this been in development again?

This game peaked 8 years ago and has been abandoned in a state of disrepair. #fixtf2

Gameplay is good. Pretty much the only BR that's not frustrating as all hell. Only unfortunate that Respawn seems to not be very fond of skill based movement and is nerfing these aspects of the game but it's still fun. Even better now that it has Linux support.

The ultimate boomer game. Nothing else satisfies my hunger for high velocity fast-paced murder. FFA is kinda ♥♥♥♥ but other than that, CA, CTF and Duel are ite. Instagib can be fun too if you just want to click on ppl.

This game is pretty much the ultimate Arena shooter experience now that Reflex Arena is dead and Quake Champions has been a massive letdown. If this game appeals to you you might also want to check out Xonotic which is free.

Disclosure: The game used to be free to play (even on steam) and if you played back then, like I did, you got to keep it.

Great update overhauled a lot. Still some issues with joining servers though. The new graphics are very good, reasonable performance on ultra while I had to play on low on the old forward renderer. (mainly because lower framerates seemed to cause input lag back then.) Local server support is going to help a lot too. It seems like a lot of people have come back to check it out again. Not as much as when Shroud played it and the game became super overhyped for 1 month, but there's definitely a playerbase again. Now if they fix joining servers (couldnt join community servers and matchmaking didnt work unless I tabbed out of the game while loading in) this will be solid. Look forward to playing it more again.

Edit: Restarting the game seems to have fixed the issue. Might have something to do with playing on a local server and then trying to play. Still annoying though...
