Was a great game until Sony got greedy. Previously the linking to PSN was optional and even on Sony's own website they said it was optional. Then 3 months after release it becomes a requirement and they even have the gall to try to update their website post facto to try to hide what they originally said. Then you get all the regions they sold this game where you can not sign up for a PSN account making the game dead for thousands of players. All of this just when we need more divers on the front lines you start to question if Sony itself is actually one of the factions trying to suppress the spread of democracy.

Edit: The forces of Managed Democracy have come together and shown Sony the error of its ways. Peace has been restored to Super Earth and it is once again recommended for all citizens across the globe to join.

Great game with some bugs, as per usual with smaller studios the game is released with some bugs. I have played since release yet even with these bugs I was able to build a nice city. Even though a 4090 can apparently not run the game my 1070 did just fine although it looked a lot nicer on my 3080. As for resolving issues in the game the good old spaghetti solution is always the solution until mods or better intersection management solutions are released.

As months have passed major game breaking bugs continue to be unfixed, from dogs breaking public transit to land value issues as well as econ bugs. Updates are released few and far between leaving little hope to having a playable game in the near future.

I just wanted to update that outside of mods there has been no fix for the previously mentioned bugs that existed on release yet... This game is still a few years out from where it should have been on release. I am not talking about having all the features of the old one, I am just talking about not having core bugs as well as having all the promised core features of the game.

I can see how this game could be a lot of fun for joystick and controller but the controls for the mouse is just a joke. When using a mouse the cursor should never be visible and it should be auto centering on movement stop as in when I stop moving the mouse I am now going forward. With a joystick and controller this is easily done because when you stop the movement it does this automatically as a physical function of the input device. Given that a mouse does not physically work this way and there has been decades of software solutions to this issue why are they not present in this game. I suppose that it may inbalance multiplayer but if that was the case why not just make it an option for first person only or something else.

So if your planning to play this with a mouse be ready for a gimped experience.

I want to add that I have done some more research and found that part of the issues I am having could be solved if they allowed us to rebind the mouse to work correctly. The fact that they made the mouse controls this bad and then went out of their way to stop you form being able to fix it is really nasty. There should be a warning about this on the steam page.

Although FPS multiplayer has changed a lot in the last 20 years the difficulty of proper team coordination and a true multiplayer experience lives on in this game. Years after release it is still getting free content updates and balance changes to spice up the meta.

NS2: Combat is a great follow-up from the Combat Mod in Natural Selection 2. It is a true successor of the original mod from ns1 and really comes into it's own now as a standalone game. NS2: Combat is a great game that, thanks to its simple interface and helpful hints, is easy to learn and enjoy for any player.
