When I was a little kid my grandfather gave me my first DOS computer with a bunch of games. This was included, and one of my favorites, so when I saw it on steam I had to pick it up. Fun memories and cool puzzles

fun 2hu metroidvania

Given the fact that 8.8% of players have gotten the achievement for beating the game should show that it's honestly not really worth your time. It seems good at first but there's really not much there and don't even get me started on the QTE nonsense. They aren't fun, you can tell it's a "big joke" like calling out Quick Time Events being overused in gaming, but they are being worse than the problem. They are always disorienting, sometimes downright confusing to even understand requiring multiple tries to even figure out (looking at you "find the out of place egg"). That wouldn't even be a problem if the game didn't penalize you so hard for messing one up, so in most cases you are being sent back to the last checkpoint to have to run all the way back and try again. It gets really old, really fast. The levels are boring, the weapons are boring, everything is just really boring and not all that fun.

I've had this game for a long time, bought it in 2012 and played a bit and stopped. Revisited it in 2016 and got bored and stopped then too. I went back this year to at least complete it for the achievements. Which is pretty insane because I had become fed up with the game very close to the end (85 monsters out of 101). There is a bit more to do past what I have done and I am at least thankful they didn't force that upon anyone with achievements. That said, I will not be going back and doing the extra missions. I will not be getting the DLC. I don't even think this game is worth it on sale, don't waste your time here.

TL:DR:
Game is bland, runs too many jokes into the ground, and just plain sucks. Avoid at all costs.

I think this DLC is fantastic, there is so much polish and love put into this and it really shows. I've been playing on both normal, and hard mode, enjoying the overall experience. It's almost as if you don't need to always play on hard mode to have a good time. Also, good story.

Having finished everything I can do, as of now, I will say that I really do enjoy what I am seeing so far. It's a retro game with a great story to go with it. Everything looks promising. The lewd scenes are very polished and the pandora system is good for setting up custom scenes. I'm looking forward to more.

Also the soundtrack is phenomenal, wish there was a way to purchase it. Though the jukebox option works in game too, but I can't take that on the go with me.

Oh and Demi is best girl.

I recently started replaying this game again, the first time I played and completed it was back in 2011/2012. It has a lot of charm, is witty, and has an interesting concept. I would also suggest just playing through it without the use of a guide that shows you everything, it's much better that way. Right now I still cannot play on the hardest difficulty, Spasmodic, but I can get through Hard just fine. It offers a decent challenge and has an interesting story with secrets to be found throughout. It has a pretty deep battle system that allows for many different types of play, which you may just find yourself constantly tweaking as you go. Which I enjoy, it doesn't trap you into one set role.

That being said it isn't perfect. It does have a bit of a grind and there aren't an overabundance of enemies, but that's something hard to really fault it on. Given the time it came out and the small team behind it. It is impressive none-the-less.

I've been having a great time playing this again, it took me around 30 hours to fully complete initially. If a rhythm RPG sounds like something you'd be interested in I'd suggest picking it up. With the sale prices it's a steal in all honesty.
