A great remaster. FF1 is my all time fav game, as it was my introduction into RPG's back when it came out on the NES all those years ago. This remake/remaster is true to the source material. The music is fantastic. The pixel art is as wonderful as ever. I ran into no bugs at all while playing. My only complaint is it's not as difficult as the original. But was still entertaining and sucked me in. Chaos is quite the power jump still, so there is a nice challenge there. Took me about 11 hours to beat the game, only missing a few chests and 4 beasts keeping me from 100%ing this game.

Pros:
Music is awesome, recorded by the Japanese Central Symphony Orchestra
Sound is iconic still, true to form.
Nice QoL additions here with programmed auto battle, minimap, quick saves and no need to "cheat" to see an overland map.

Cons:
Movement on keyboard/mouse feels a little strange to me, just play with controller.
Not as difficult as the original
Far too easy to earn gil early game.

Still one of the best RPGs of all time.

So, what can be said about Disco Elysium.

Graphics: The visual style of this game is what you expect from a comic book while dropping DMT. It's visually stunning like living inside of a rainbow.

Writing: If you love reading, this is the game for you. It's like reading a novel written by a recent oxford Lit graduate.

Voice Acting: There is some voice acting, but not much. However, the voice acting that there is, is really well done.

Sound: The music in this game is very fitting to the Atmosphere.

Game Play: It boils down to a point and click adventure game form the old days. The skill system is larger than you would think it needs to be, but that gives you the ability to do things differently if you want to play it several times. You will get off on a tangent, but remember to come back to the main story line to progress and not get lost.

Overall: Great game! If you like point and click adventure games and colorful reading? Pick it up!

After quite a while I've decided to give this another try. I've put an additional 12 hours or so into working with Card Creator.
I chose to re-design the layout for a game I've been working on for the past several years.
My previous review was harsh, so I felt it was time to give it another look.
I'm changing my review from No to Yes. There are several reasons why.
1. It's very easy now to change the size of the card being designed. Initially, there were only a few stock standard sizes. Now you can literally give it the dimensions you want.
2. You can now import custom icons for uses in your cards and tint them different colors. While I would have loved a UI way of importing these, you can at least put the icons in a folder, and they show up in the UI. This makes things extremely easy and simplifies design pipelines for making changes.
3. You can export whole projects, single card decks with fronts and backs to stand alone images, PDF’s for Print-2-Play or single images for importing into Table Top Simulator. Very handy.
4. The Layer and layouts of the card blueprints are much more snappy and easier to work with. There are still some strange UI issues when dealing with more than 5 layers and several cuts with large graphics. But saving and restarting the application corrects this. Now, this could just be my machine, so take that with a grain of salt.

A few things I would offer up as recommendations for Card Creator.
1. Export to The Game Crafter for standard card sizes (2.5in x 3.5in, Tarot, etc). For instance, when I want to upload to them, I need to run a script in gimp to resize the standard card output from Card Creator to match the input requirements of The Game Crafter (825x1125).
2. UI Method for importing custom Icons.
3. Method of doing print-2-play pdfs in black and white. This is important for prototyping and saving on color ink (for those who still like to proto-type physically).

Would I recommend this to someone wanting to proto-type cards for a game? Absolutely.
Would I recommend this to someone doing game design that isn’t the best at Photoshop or Gimp? For sure, this application is simple to work with and produces pretty good-looking results.

So. I watched this game when it was first released. Held off of picking it up until I could see exactly what it would become. Glad I did. I did pick it up on the Foundation update. This added a lot to the game and made it more my style. Not to mention, I was able to get it at the discounted price of $35.99. If it were still $59.99, I wouldn't get it unless they add Multi Payer. Then in a second. As of writing this review I've put 3.7 hours into the game. A far cry from what I will be putting into it I'm sure.
The base building is sweet.
The exploration is well done.
Ground combat is a bit simple.
Haven't gotten into space combat yet, so can't comment there.
Crafting seems pretty deep now.
And now you can hire aliens to work for you in your base, and they give quests! True, it's a sandbox game, but a little direction from time to time tied to new schmatics is just what this game needed. I do hope they introduce full multiplayer to the game. I think the little message bots you can leave is them dipping thier toes into it. If you enjoy games like Ark, Osiris and Rust I would check this game out for your self now. Now, the ending to the game is pretty lame. I've seen the youtube vidoes of it and not really going to try to get to that point. I'm playing it to explorer and just live inside this universe for a while to escape from the pressures of today.

If you can get it at a discount, get it. If not, then wait until full multiplayer is introduced.

So.. Do you like games like Baldur’s Gate? Then you might like this game. Do you like to read a lot? Then you will love this game. The interactions between the characters are great. The story is well written and in-depth. But, there is tons of reading. TONS. Parts that would beg for cut scenes, instead get a wall of text. It's like I'm playing a game back in 1998 again. I know this was a kickstarter, and I know it's not really a standard in CRPG to have animated cut scenes. But it's 2016 now, we could at least have cut scenes done in the actual engine and not in book form. For this I had to return it. If I wanted to read a book, I would have picked one off the book shelf behind me.

What can be said about Awesomenauts. Well, I will just repeat what I heard someone in teamspeak say when they found out I was streaming this game.

"Awesomenauts? Isn't that DOTA's ♥♥♥♥♥♥ cousin?"

Well, in a way yes. But in a good way, I guess. Awesomenauts is a MOBA, but a side scrolling MOBA. Very original artwork, music score and gameplay. There isn't a repeated character in the bunch, and all have skills that are valuable to a team of three when played correctly.

It's fun...

It's engaging...

Better played with a team of two other friends in voice chat.

A good time will be held by all.

The controls are easy to learn and adapt to. It can be challenging at times, but always fun. Even when a certain frog is jumping around kicking all of your asses.

Early Access Review
First off, let me preface this by saying that this game has no AI. There is no scripting that is done. It's a simple sandbox that you can play tabletop games in. Unlike some I knew that buying this. Not sure how you could be misled, they state it pretty clear in the videos and online.

Since that's over with now, let’s get to it. As a sandbox, it's great! The physics are there and adjustable (drop height, size of items and controls).

Custom content, well there is a lot of it on the workshop. Some legit, some not so legit. Some publishers have been going around and serving pesky take down notices to some of the games that are out there. But creating custom content is pretty easy, if you're adding cards. I have been using this to playtest card games, so most of what I do is card based. Making custom models and meeples or tokens is very difficult if you don't already have experience at 3d model and UVunrapping (not even sure if that's the correct word). I tried for a day to make a custom hexagon card or tile for a game. I finally had to end up just making it a square card and ignore the edges.

They include a program now that will help with importing custom cards. Also something to note is that all custom content has to be web accessible. As in you must have the files uploaded to a web host or an image hosting service in order to load the custom content. You can't just have the custom files on your hard drive. It needs to be on the web so the other players can download the custom content. Doesn't have to be on the marketplace, just on a webhost somewhere accessible.

End of the day, if you love tabletop games or want to prototype a card game I would pick this one up. Haven't used it for a RPG yet, but looking forward to doing it soon.
