I'm doing my part. Helping to tell Sony to go ♥♥♥♥ themselves.

Edit: while sony has backed away in requiring a PSN account, the game is still unavailable in 177 countries despite that. so my review will stay negative until it is changed.

To get to the point. Payday 3 is fun, but bogged down by silly decisions and horrible menus. The gameplay is stellar, stealth is a lot more varied and forgiving while still being difficult, it feels like playing a puzzle game and gratifying when you finally solve it. Loud is tough, like running a marathon with weights holding you down, but just enough to keep moving forward so reaching the finish line feels incredibly rewarding. The menus, lack of crime.net from 2, character progression tied to challenges, and no offline play is a real let down. People have been complaining about the matchmaking but also seem to forget that the Devs are working to fix the issue. But despite all that, I genuinely have a great time heisting solo, and with friends.

I thought this game would be a simple free jrpg with flimsy gameplay and plot, but I'm glad I was wrong. I played this game in both methods but this review will be focused on VR and it works surprisingly and pleasantly well.

The combat is basic but fluid and responsive. The parry works well and has enough room for error so it feels satisfying to pull off quick parries during combat. The spell casting is a little clunky in VR with you physically having to throw it. Experience with this might differ but WIP shows a more point and release targetting system which I think works a lot better.

The movement is at a nice speed, however an option for smooth turning would be appreciated, I know people get motion sick but some prefer snap turning and some prefer smooth turning.

Grabbing the sword is a tad bit awkward, as a right handed person a few times the sword felt a bit too out of reach, atleast until I realised you could point towards it and grab it like that which is smart. An over the shoulder style of sword holster would be a good addition, it would also help people in the seated position to avoid accidentally whacking their chair.

I tried both standing and sitting and it's much better standing but there was minor discrepancies. But sitting seemed to have the sword and spells just a little too far away.

One final issue was during cutscenes in VR, my head was positioned at the characters waist. This meant that my view was lowered and positioned inside chairs. For the most part this was alright, I didnt miss out on the scenes but I missed out on moments where characters would physically interact with the player.

I could not find a solution and the problem was consistent no matter if seated or standing or with height adjustment.

have no knowledge or skill with coding but a solution may be to force the players view/head to be where the 3d models head would be had the game be played non VR.

The cutscenes we're nice and non overbearing and the voice acting was pleasantly well done. I can't really comment about the story since not much was revealed but as long as it's coherent and consistent, it should be pretty good.

Overall the game was fun to play and fans of jrpgs with VR headsets should look forward to the full games release. I know I am.

This is a game that i find myself playing on and off. There is nothing wrong with the game, I just don't fine myself playing it for no longer than 3-4 hour periods. Killing Floor 2 is a great game and a wonderful sequal and the hidden lore and mindless murder just add to the enjoyment. The game isn't bad because I can't play it for long periods at a time, the game is good because I can keep coming back to it and still continue to enjoy it.
