Life is like a staircase.

YOU and Me and Her was the direct inspiration for "Doki Doki Literature Club", if YOU already know DDLC, which would be most people here, YOU can already tell what features it'll have, only in this case, turbo charged with an 18+ patch dlc.

YOU control "Shinichi" a typical protagonist in your average visual novel, with no notable distinctions. Naturally, a stand in for YOU.

The two other main characters involve Miyuki and Aoi, the two "choices" when it comes to which route YOU decide to choose.

Miyuki is a perfect girl who is always putting on an act for her prestige and social requirements, only becoming more blatant once she comes to understand Aoi's point of view and the threat of Shinichi preferring Aoi.

Aoi is a concept, mainly dedicated to helping Shinichi get with Miyuki, and if that doesn't happen, trying to exist by doing "some" things.

For the route I chose, It's interesting to think how other visual novels fit in, for what I chose was just another cycle, maybe It's different in the other route, but I didn't do it again for reasons that the game implies.

The ending I chose is applicable to any options i have in specific visual novels, this novel itself is very uncomfortable, not so much a physical or mental one such as DDLC or even Saya, but emotionally, and even sexually.

The question is, however, who do YOU choose?

Yuutarou is unironically the best character in the game..

One of the things that I recall most about the old "Danganronpa" also known as "DISTRUST", was that the game was supposed to be non linear, varying characters will die based on the choices and activities of the player. A system like that really sounds interesting as it removes the predicting what may happen and promoting replay ability and so on.

Unfortunately, Danganronpa wasn't able to adapt to a system as complex as that, and whilst YTTD doesn't perfectly have complexity that deep, it is closer to it, there will be a choices as to which characters you can let live or die, indirectly and directly.

I personally fell in love with the game at the end of Chapter 2, where you have to make a choice between logic or emotion. I chose emotion, cause I'd probably cry if I didn't, which I did multiple times throughout the story anyway...

Even characters that I'd think I'd dislike from early on and continued to dislike until Chapter 3 has genuinely amazing moments that fully develop their characters, which gets me onto another thing. For Danganronpa, it feels as though once a character dies, their impact is often forgotten and ignored, they take the focus of whichever chapter they are in and then permanently disappear afterwards; minus a few exceptions, however, in YTTD, the characters, especially the early ones, feel as though their story begins once they have gone, and where they have the most impact.

TLDR, really sad game with very cool choices.

Please finish Chapter 3-2...

137 By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down, yea, we wept, when we remembered Zion.

2 We hanged our harps upon the willows in the midst thereof.

3 For there they that carried us away captive required of us a song; and they that wasted us required of us mirth, saying, Sing us one of the songs of Zion.

4 How shall we sing the Lord's song in a strange land?

5 If I forget thee, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget her cunning.

6 If I do not remember thee, let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth; if I prefer not Jerusalem above my chief joy.

7 Remember, O Lord, the children of Edom in the day of Jerusalem; who said, Rase it, rase it, even to the foundation thereof.

8 O daughter of Babylon, who art to be destroyed; happy shall he be, that rewardeth thee as thou hast served us.

9 Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones.

Pros:
Glitterhoof
HRE
Bordergore
Cons:
Vassals
Heir who is a misguided warrior, slothful, imbecile and inbred.

P.S.
Inbred may be subjective as to whether this is a pro or con.
