I'd give this game a neutral rating, it's fun but there's just no real challenge at all. I will say it's a nice touch being able to save and exit and then upgrade while you're on the start menu then go back to where you were with the new bonuses, I just wish you could change the game speed to be faster once you upgraded when continuing a save, game time speed is fixed to whatever starting value you have when you start a fresh run.

I like the upgrades, hitting level 8 with a topping gives a better version, instead of other games where you need 2 things to be combined together. It's also nice that you have recipes you can make to upgrade a single weapon further although the rng on hitting those can be a bit iffy at times

There's very little actual gameplay in this.
Click a couple of times to feed and give hearts to your stars, but it's extremely lacking in any depth to looking after your star.
The Stars make memey faces that look intended for people that enjoy brainrot.

But there's some achievements, so that can be positive for some

Fun and aggravating (at times) to work out. A little frustrating if you accidentally misclick and then need to take a screenshot and quickly catch up back to where you were.

Last 2 levels had me stuck for awhile, but eventually just clicked into place and was done in a couple of mins

Tends to get fairly repetitive while grinding out resources to upgrade buildings to be able to do your quests. Matches feel less about waiting for a good pairing and more about spamming as many as you can get out

Haven't really played these games before, but it was fun enough to keep me occupied for a few hours, would usually do one chapter before getting bored then come back another day to try the next one. I still found the game play personally rather dull but got about 4 hours of play time, could go through it a lot faster if you're looking for just the achievements and getting a perfect game.

Some of the puzzles were pretty cool, and I wish there was a few more like the octopus one or the knight one. While the other puzzles felt like you could just get lucky and brute force it by clicking accidentally. None of the puzzles were hard, some of the more difficult ones being just poking around til you kinda realised what you needed to do.

The graphics were nice looking, there was some sort of story and I started reading it but quickly lost interest. Voice acting on the notes might have been a bit more engaging

Will give it a positive rating for now as an intro to these sorts of games, but I expect anyone that's more serious about this genre would find it a dull experience

None of the achivements were missable, so no need to backtrack through levels

I enjoy playing with magic cards but didn't wanna spend money in the online version. While still somewhat new to magic, it was a pretty miserable experience playing online. Your card pool is vastly smaller compared to long time players or people who've purchased packs. Leaving you limited in what decks you can build. The game offers a decent amount of packs at the start to open which was nice but after that it's very painful getting new packs without spending money.

The Jump in event was the only thing that was actually enjoyable, mashing two themed decks together and battling randoms using different two deck combos. But once you run out of jump tokens either from wanting to try a new deck or not enjoying the combo you pick it hits a paywall with gems.
Brawl was the least enjoyable mode I played with everyone having overtuned decks compared to a newcomer to Arena, games were pretty onesided and drawn out. Thankfully a conceed button is there for anyone that draws their turn out for too long or extends the match for little reason

I'll probably log in occasionally and see if there's any extra packs to claim, but with the amount of micro transactions I'd rather invest money elsewhere

Honestly not a fan of the shooting in this game, needing to click on your character just takes away any fun of moving/dodging/killing. Maybe other's will say it's just a skill issue, but clicking, charging and releasing just for nothing to fire really takes any joy out of playing.

It's a bit buggy and likes to crash

Playing Elemental cards when the elemental effect isn't happening causes a crash, so you either need to spend your energy/points to reroll the useless card or risk game crashing. So far have come across 4 cards causing this issue

Steam achievements don't seem to register when completing a task, visited every node on the map and killed the boss, unsure if this is due to not being able to mark the village node off or not

The fire map is horrible to play on once the fire catches up to you, the screen becomes to distorted causing a pretty heavy eye strain

The gameplay loop is fun for a little while but runs just drag on a bit too long with the main difficulty increase being enemies deal more damage to you. I personally don't mind the parry mechanic, makes it a little more engaging but it's definitely not a full auto battler.

Some cards need to be a bit clearer in what they do. Recovery causes the card effect to activate when discarded but have never seen it actually do anything.

It feels a bit pointless one of the perks you can get is spending your energy to reroll your starting cards. It's completely pointless when you can just go into the map and leave to reset your card options at no penalty except wasting time

I wouldn't bother with the options menu when it comes to audio, best to just adjust it through windows sounds, having to click each individual arrow to make it go down 1% is an odd choice

I'll still play the game from time to time when bored, to finish the last achievements but I wouldn't recommend the game to anyone, full price or on sale.

Edit: It's really not fun crashing in Endless mode and losing every single loop you've done

Cute game and relaxing, but not a fan of the forced camera perspective

The game starts out being fun, but the grind to get all the feats just made the game extremely unfun for me
