Bullet hell survival with an action RPG progression system and a Diablo-esque aesthetic.

Bethesda, a studio known for their amazing handcrafted worlds, decided to make a game without a single handcrafted world and it falls as flat as you'd expect.

Picture the amount of content in a Fallout or Skyrim game but stretched across many procedurally generated planets.

As was the case with the Fallout 4 settlement system, it feels like they got obsessed over a singular piece of tech they were developing and then forgot they were meant to build a game around it.

Good game, not a lot variety on what you do in the levels but as far as gameplay systems go it's very fleshed out.

Graphically it's what you'd expect. However a huge gripe I have is the pixel scaling inconsistency. Some objects are very detailed, and are therefore scaled up less, while other objects such as surroundings aren't scaled up at all. I can only assume they were going for a 2.5D effect with depth. The issue is that it doesn't work when everything is flat, expecially not at 1080p, and ends up messing with your eyes trying to figure out what everything is due some objects being at different pixel scales from others.

Luckily the actual levels don't suffer from this much.

It's alright. Doesn't look as graphically spectacular when comparing to what they managed to pull with Fallout 4 in the Creation Engine (when I say specular I mean purely based on what the Creation Engine is capable of), but it's alright looking. The 64-bit binary will finally eleviate the hard limit on modding capabilities and ultimately make it as stable and solid as Fallout 4 was.

Despite the actual game, Fallout 4 was amazingly stable after the usual Beth patches and the Unofficial Patch, never once experiencing a CTD that wasn't caused by a mod I had installed.

If you don't own Skyrim already I would advise this version over the 2011 release. However if you already own the 2011 release but not all the DLC I would just stick with what you have. Unless you're planning on doing heavy modifications that will pass the hardcoded 32-bit limitations the original will give you the exact same experience content-wise.

It's not an RPG anymore.

It's more akin to games like Borderlands or Dying Light, where while there are mechanics that are RPG-like in nature the overarching experience revolves around looting and killing rather than building your character.

I'm of the belief that Obsidian got it right with New Vegas. I wish Bethesda had taken pointers from them instead of... well... doing this...

That is all.

Second's are never as good as the first. It's a rule, like why I never eat breakfast after 10am, or else I get bad indigestion.

This game also gave me bad indigestion when it put enemies outside of the players extended view, let alone outside of their normal view. That's what is called artificial difficulty.

I don't agree with that, just like I don't agree with eating breakfast after 10am.

But I still sometimes do eat breakfast after 10am.

That is why I must give this at least a recommendation.

Still salty about the artificial difficulty, however.

Also this is the first Miami game to make me angry when I die, because I have no idea where the enemies are.

Actually I'm not going to give this a recommendation.

Alright, I will, but it's a very weak one. The first was better. No, seriously.

A lot of people don't like there aren't anymore zombies in this game.

A lot of people don't like that there were zombies in this game.

A lot of people don't like this game.

I like this game.
