This game had me engaged from beginning to end. While it definitely shows age and can be visually hard to look at when compared to how far the industry has come, it's still an incredible ride. With solid game design philosophy and super satisfying sound design, there's a lot to love about the game.

As someone who hadn't played it until recently, I was expecting to feel lukewarm about it, especially due to how many "4K HD" games I've played in recent years, but to my surprise I almost spent an entire day of my free time going through and solving puzzles, strategically fighting headcrabs, and generally just fully immersing myself subconsciously into the role Gordon Freeman plays as the Joe Schmo with a theoretical physics PhD on their way to work. It scratches a science fiction itch regarding aliens that just vibes really well with me too.

Definitely a more than worthwhile buy if not a must have, and if you do buy it then hey, catch me later, I'll buy you a beer.

Relatively short game, but one of the most interesting experiences I've had in a game. Rather than using the medium to shoot things, or creating platforming Metroidvania style, Firewatch uses the idea of a game to tell a story with beautiful aesthetics, vignettes and set pieces. I don't regret a single second I spent on this game, and I'd recommend to anyone within a 10 mile radius if I could.

One of my favorite games from 2013, brought back a lot of good memories getting all of the achievements again. I recommend if you want to fully enjoy yourself, mute the in game dialogue. Not only has that aspect aged incredibly poorly, but most of the writing is very hit or miss. When the jokes land, they make me chuckle, and when they miss I want to turn the game off over how awful the execution was.

But if you turn dialogue volume all the way down, I cannot recommend this game enough.

The gameplay is just that smooth. Everything you do is intuitive, and every time you do anything related to parkour or follow it up by launching a hairspray bomb or a tnteddy, it's the most satisfying feeling I've had in ages. As the foundation for the new Spider-Man (PS4) I think it is more than worth looking into for a good time, not just because of that other game, but in its own right.

If you can look past the dialogue, you will have a completely unregrettable good time playing this game, turn on some of your own music, watch some videos, just have fun in a refined third person shooter sandbox with tons of collectibles and quests to challenge you and allow you to explore.

NOTE: I understand some people care about frame tearing and game crashes. Throughout my entire time getting all the achievements, the game crashed twice, but I'm pretty sure it crashed more on Xbox One tbh. If you don't have an up to date computer, frame tearing and crashes may be more of a problem than what I experienced, so keep that in mind when purchasing.
cheers ^^

A Hat in Time is a game about a little alien girl trying to find her way home.

Fluid controls, excellent camera, one of the best 3D platformers I've seen from an indie studio.

Even after all the base content, there is the community map update to consider. This update adds much appreciated hours to the game itself, and a few achievements to boot.

The developers of this game listen to their community and are a bunch of fun people! it's honestly such a breath of fresh air.

Oh yeah, and the game's atmosphere and tone is super cute, btw! Those who want a lighthearted time will not be dissapointed.

I highly recommend you buy this game right now if you enjoy 3D platformers to any degree. Playing through the main game and community levels was an absolute blast, and I plan to hop back in once more community levels roll out.

Despite its design being based off of other games like Earthbound, this is a one of a kind game, with a message from the get go that is explored in three different possible playstyles. If you don't have this game and still don't know what it's about, sit down and play it right now. You will not regret it.

Fantastic story driven game. Tight gameplay and controls, fun and engaging challenges. The soundtrack along with the internal conflict within the story intrigued me all the way to completion. This one's definitely one of my faves.

As someone who has completed the game to 100% and seen all it has to offer, I must recommend it for the fantastic presentation of its story and an interesting mechanic which allows proper full knowledge of characters that is still optional but doesnt warrant having to restart on a new save file just to experience extra dialogue. There are plenty of things wrong with this game and it's by no means perfect, but I recommend playing [Not watching a Let's Play!] all the way through to see what you think. It should be noted that I do dislike some things regarding the choice of endings, moreover, some choices flat out don't make any sense in consequence or in that it's even a choice at all. However, as it stands, the game was a treat to play for all 18 hours I did, and I don't regret a single minute spent.

Early Access Review
Absolutely brilliant, tons of RP oppurtunities, Exploration is beautiful and balanced so far, Survival is complex but not hard enough so that a bigot couldn't understand what is going on. Wonderful progression that doesn't feel rushed or slowed, but rewarding and properly paced. Plus you get to play songs with your friends. So yeah, buy this game before they have enough sense to ramp up the price.
