Early Access Review
good, very satisfying game that is an excellent foundation for what is (hopefully) a long list of updates over the next few years. As of right now, the game is lacking a lot in content, but it is significantly better than it was on release, and with the devs planning to continue updating it, i can see it turning into a very good game in future.

The biggest issue right now is the fact it has a very dedicated player base (myself included) who absolutely dominate the leaderboards and it makes it fairly difficult for new players to enjoy the game. This "problem" is usually resolved temporarily during free weekends, streamer events, or other in game events that bring a lot of players back to try things out again, but for the most part, it's not the easiest game to enjoy casually unless you understand a lot of the games mechanics already. I don't tend to play the game super aggressively or use metas, but still manage to perform fairly well by utilising strategies and methods that other players don't typically realise is as powerful as it is.

Overall, i do recommend the game, especially for the price, but be prepared to not do well at first or get absolutely demolished by the higher level dedicated players.

So to start off this review i'm going to say that i'm gonna try to review each aspect of the game, keeping it simple but enough to influence your opinion i hope. I'd also like to say straight away that the game is only really worth it on sale, but it seems to go on sale quite often for cheap, i got the deluxe edition for £30 which is really good and if you're only interested in the Chronicles maps then it was £14, so wait for it to go on sale before buying, but with that being said, i'd recommend reading the sections of the review for the gamemodes which interest you.

Campaign - I have yet to finish the campaign in all of my years having this game on different platforms but i intend to change that now, i've played about half of the campaign and it's pretty average as far as call of duty campaigns go, although the actual story is very in depth and not necessarily in a good way ( its all over the place and very confusing ). They do a good job at showing you all the features and it comes with the uniqueness that a lot of other CoD games don't have, allowing you to customise your own loadouts and outfits before each mission, and you can play it Co-Op, it was fun to play with friends but i wouldn't recommend any CoD games for the campaign alone. I also seem to remember there being a zombies version of the campaign called nightmare or something like that? from what i remember it was scuffed, super buggy and didn't add anything interesting to the campaign that the normal campaign didn't already have, i might be remembering it wrong but Jesus Christ i would not recommend trying that gamemode.

Multiplayer - I was never a huge fan of multiplayer on this game due to it being very pay to win, but apart from that the multiplayer is definitely decent. I haven't played it on PC because apparently its absolutely riddled with cheaters and modders and if you want a CoD game for multiplayer i wouldn't recommend this one, at least not on PC, if you have a console then i'd probably recommend it for the multiplayer as long as you buy the deluxe edition which comes with a bonus DLC weapon, giving you a chance at getting one of the decent ones and having a chance in multiplayer. The stock weapons aren't *bad* but there are just some DLC weapons which are significantly better, BO4 and advanced warfare were also pretty bad for this.

Zombies - this is what i'd recommend the game for. There's a reason BO3 is widely regarded as the best zombies game out of the entire Black Ops series and i highly recommend it. It still has that same modder problem, every game you'll probably find someone who has been boosted to prestige master level 1000 but i've managed to avoid cheaters long enough to prestige once and complete a lot of the easter eggs so it's not impossible to do, and Treyarch have a dedicated support page where you can request to have your stats fixed if a cheater ♥♥♥♥♥ with them. My tactic for avoiding cheaters is to steer clear of the prestige master level 1000s where you can tell they haven't got it legit, I.E they have only a few thousand kills and their highest round games are ridiculously high, they aren't always the cheaters but better safe than sorry, right? the maps themselves are all fantastic, not a huge fan of a couple but that's not to say they're bad maps. The game itself has 14 maps, with 9 of them being remastered from WaW to BO2, its a shame we don't have maps like buried and mob of the dead but we can pray that in future they decide to make a standalone zombies game with all of the maps they've ever added to zombies, i think even Treyarch know how well that would sell. Zombies can be kinda pay to win with the gobblegums but if you purchase the deluxe edition you get 50 for free and if you're willing to spend money on liquid divinium you can get as many as you want. You can earn liquid divinium for free but its fairly tedious and you'll only get 2-5 per really good game where you keep buying things like perks and doors. You aren't required to use them either so it's not something you can't play without. If there's anything in this game that's worth cheating to get its diviniums, they're super easy to get with a mod menu like MXT ( this is the one i used for both diviniums and the rare extra camos ) and it definitely improves the experience not having to constantly worry about the ridiculously priced gobblegums. I'd also say if you are buying it for zombies you'll need the deluxe edition because that way you get all of the maps and bonus features like the camos, supply drops and liquid divinium, and i don't think the zombies is worth it just for Shadows of Evil, as great as that map is, and it would be expensive to buy the rest of the maps on their own.
Edit - I forgot to talk about the modded zombies which i have yet to even check out so there's not much i can say, but you can get custom maps based on any of your interests or needs, so regarding my recent statement about maps like Mob of the Dead and Buried, you can more than likely find custom versions of them, which i think is probably one of the greatest selling points of the PC version over the console version.

Conclusion - I'd recommend the game for zombies, multiplayer just isn't worth it with the cheating problem that PC CoD games face and the campaign is relatively mid-tier and isn't worth buying the entire game for, if you wanna check out the campaign then pirate it or watch a walkthrough.

- Another game that i've been playing since near enough release, i picked up the game just as Valkyrie and Blackbeard were introduced on the Xbox One version of the game and picked up the PC version years later on an old account, saw it on sale recently and bought it for this account too just to have it.

-The game itself is decent, massive learning curve and very competitive so if you're into that kinda thing i could see you enjoying the game *IF* it weren't for these reasons;
- The community is straight garbage, full of awful, toxic people with massive egos
- The game is old enough at this point where new players just get stomped, even me going back to it after all this time can be a bit annoying at times
- It has a lot of pay to win features, the DLC operators *can* be earned for free but it takes hours of grinding for one operator, we're on year 7, and theres usually 4 sets of operators per year if i remember right, so good luck unlocking them all without paying a fortune
- The game gets changed a lot, whether that be maps being reworked, operators being reworked, or just new things being added. Since the last time i played most of the maps have been redone and i don't know any of the layouts which completely screws you over
- The newcomer gamemode, intended for, well, newcomers, is full of smurfs and probably cheaters too, steer away from this gamemode for your own sanity
- The way the deathmatch gamemode is setup can completely screw you over since theres not much balancing and the spawns are iffy at best, Siege isn't a game where team deathmatch works

- Overall i just wouldn't recommend getting into this game at this point. If you're coming from console onto PC it might not be the worst idea to give it a go, if you already know the fundamentals and are just getting into PC games then its probably a good place to start for getting used to shooters, but other than that i just can't recommend this game to new players.

I've been playing this game since ( basically ) release in 2017 across multiple platforms and accounts and have totalled around 1000 hours on the game and despite getting bored every so often and taking a break from the game i've thoroughly enjoyed playing the game itself.

- The game is kinda unforgiving when it comes to new players but unlike other games, namely counter-strike, PUBG actually tries to ease new players in with the training features, 10 AI matches and then 3 Casual matches per day ( which have 85 bots compared to 15 players if i remember right ). I've said this about games like Fortnite before when people say that the game is bad nowadays compared to what it used to be like, but fundamentally the game is significantly better and no one can argue against this because it's simply facts. The game might not be as enjoyable as it was back 5 years ago when it was a fresh style of game and people played very different to how they do now, but there are so many more features, gamemodes, things to do in general that if we were to go back to how the game was on release, everyone would complain, theres simply no pleasing people when it comes to stuff like this sadly.

- Another big thing about this game which i've noticed is people complaining about cheaters, and i have no idea how this "cheater problem" is such a massive debate in forums because i almost never run into cheaters or people i suspect of cheating. The only time i've encountered people that i *knew* were cheating was on my other account playing ranked against people who didn't even try to hide it, on this account there hasn't been anyone i've ran into that i've suspected of cheating, and yet you visit the forum and all you see is people complaining about cheaters. I have reason to believe its just people who aren't great at the game accusing everyone better than them of cheating due to some ego problems or something, it's very common on competitive games like Siege and CS:GO, but if you're worried about cheaters when starting this game then i hope this sways your mind a bit regarding that.

- The games balancing is fine for the most part, you'll always have people who think certain things are broken, especially when they first release, and sometimes the Devs aren't great at balancing them out. This is mainly referring to the P90, which is an SMG you find in supply drops that doesn't need attachments, has very little recoil and does a lot of damage, and the Devs tried to balance it by reducing the ammo count :/

- I should probably mention how slow paced the game can feel at times, the movement is very clunky and sluggish at times but the shooting feels fantastic, it takes some getting used to but it's satisfying once you do.

- Overall the game is enjoyable if you like the competitive side of games as well as the steep learning curve this game has, like recoil control, bullet drop and speed, the attachments, ammo etc. I do recommend the game in general though because it is fun and the Devs are constantly adding new features and maps which keep the game feeling as fresh as a Battle Royale game can be in 2022, it's a stale and outdated style that i'm glad games are moving away from, it was much more interesting 5 years ago when games like this, H1Z1 and Fortnite were new but now it's just overdone, but with that being said, PUBG is still enjoyable for the most part and if it seems interesting to you then you should give it a try ( maybe a few tries ).

If this is your first time playing and you're just interested in the game itself, i wouldn't recommend buying this version but instead playing the free version. This version is essentially the console version of the game and unless you're interested in the extra content from the side stories, the extra music + HD images, and just generally supporting the devs there really isn't much reason to buy this over the free one. However, with that being said, the meta virtual desktop is a really cool way of porting the game to consoles, and the extra side stories are really cool and definitely worth the time to play, a lot of cool Easter Eggs and secrets are featured as well through the meta desktop which wouldn't be possible using the normal desktop, it is a shame that you can no longer watch the game files being deleted as it happens though, which isn't much of a reason to dislike the game since you can see all of that for free anyway, same goes for modding which can be done with ease on the original game. The new soundtracks are really cool as well, as well as all of the collectable images which show a lot of appreciation to the community and artists, i may or may not have spent a lot of time getting all of them, but it was worth it ;)

Overall, would highly recommend the game, and remember folks...

A masterpiece, to say the absolute least. The movement and shooting is all very clean, the titan combat, while i'm not great at it, is incredibly good and balanced, apart from Tone, of course, ♥♥♥♥ you, Tone. The pilot combat which is where my skill in the game lies is really fun, all of the pilot abilities are great and useful, and even if some combinations of weapons and pilot abilities are a bit *POWERFUL*, i'm looking at you, spitfire cloak campers, there really isn't a lot to complain about. The story is incredibly good with even better characters, if you didn't get attached to BT you're lying to yourself, that damn titan alone made me replay the story numerous times. I've had the game since release on Xbox One and i thoroughly enjoyed the game, its a shame the community didn't become anything massive, because the game is exceptional. Even if the multiplayer isn't what you're looking for, there is obviously the story as well as other CO-OP missions you can do without getting destroyed by the people who have been playing for years ( sorry not sorry ).

This is a game that struck my attention when it first released years ago, and i got it on sale a while back. While i never had the motivation to get back into the game after finishing it the first time, and never really stepping foot into the DLC, the game is great fun to play. The story is lackluster at best, fairly generic, might have been seen as exceptional back when it released but now it's just "meh". The movement, combat, and general gameplay is incredibly good compared to most other games. There's a lot to do in the world, and just general traversing is fun, and as you probably know, any game with a grappling hook is a good game.

The review below is slightly outdated, but a lot of the points I brought up still apply. There has been a ton of new features added, including the release of Phantom Liberty, which has fixed pretty much every complaint I, and many others, ever had with the game, it actually feels complete now, and the only problems i have are in regard to my own hardware, mods, and game setup. One massive complaint that people had after release was the wanted system, which was so unbelievably bad it was almost impressive, it is now polished and feels really good to interact with, even MaxTac is really well done, despite not being something you'd see very often.

This game will go down as one of the biggest and best comebacks in history, CDPR actually turned this game around and made it what it should have been to begin with, and even though it took a few years, it was worth the wait, and i highly recommend this game to anyone even remotely interested.

There was also the release of the Edgerunners show a couple of years back, which was a great way to not only introduce new players to the game and it's universe, but to give current players a ton of easter eggs, references, and content to enjoy.

////// (Review: 01/11/2022) Most things i complained about or criticised in my original reviews have actually been added, fixed, or are in the game through the use of mods, this game becomes absolutely incredible with mods and i would highly, highly recommend buying it, the game has become a lot more optimised now as well, if you have a semi-decent PC definitely get this game when you can.If you want to know what i said previously about the game and the features that have since been changed then just read the things below.- Ripperdocs now act as "Plastic Surgeons" which allows you to alter your character appearance, you can also do this from the mirrors in your apartment- New weapons, reticles, attachments etc. have been added, still no customisation for these things but there are multiple variants of things like weapons which allows you to have slight amounts of customisation, just need to go and hunt down that specific coloured rifle you've always wanted- Through the use of mods, you can completely change your character in ways the base game doesn't come close to allowing, the amount of custom cyberware you can get for V is ridiculous, and through something like Vortex it is a really simple setup process.- Vehicles are also customisable through mods, there are a number of mods on nexus which allow you to buy cars which you couldn't originally, change their colours, stats, and even allow them to fly.- Game has generally been optimised, still isn't perfect but what can you expect from a game this detailed.-I would say the city still feels slightly dead at points, although i'm pretty sure a large part of that is due to the hardware limitations of my PC, with it struggling to render things in while i'm moving at certain speeds or doing certain things, wouldn't say its game breaking or ruins immersion that much.- Still a handful of bugs that need to be worked out, but again, nothing gamebreaking anymore.
