Brothers - A Tale of Two Sons, is stunningly beautiful. In my opinion, it is one of the best examples of video games as an art form. The gameplay is simple and quick; it is only a few short hours, but is well worth the journey. The story is masterfully crafted and powerful. The music is phenominal and full of emotion. The graphics are exquisite.

This game was a real treat. An experience. I would recommend it to anyone that can appreciate any of the qualities I've mentioned.

The reviews aren't exaggerating: Call of Juarez Gunslinger is fantastic. If you're even remotely a fan of FPS, you will enjoy a playthrough of this game. The storyline has great narration, there is a leveling system, the graphics are gorgeous, and the gameplay is an absolute blast. (Literally! Har har)

The main story takes around 6 hours to complete. Each level is jam-packed with action that always ends with a boss fight or duel. The gameplay style is very gallery shooter; the enemies pop out but you don't take cover, you just keep knocking 'em down. It's incredibly satisfying. Difficulty is not too bad as there are frequent checkpoints. The leveling system is neat and offers for you to customize your experience to your own style or preference. If you're a completionist (like me!) then there is a New Game + which allows you to start a new game with the experience you've already earned.

There are some extras that are also worth mentioning. Each level has collectibles which can fill you in on details of the 'Wild West.' There is an Arcade mode for more killing-spree action. Finally there is a duel mode where you can practice your quick draw versus famous outlaws.

TL;DR - This game rocks my socks.

Just recently finished my run through Darksiders; I must say I was very pleased with the experience. The game reminded me of a cross between Legend of Zelda and God of War. The plot of the story isn't necessarily anything to write home about, but the actual atmosphere of the game is superb. I found the environments in particular to be highly immersive; each area has its own unique theme. The non-player character models, including their animations, are extraordinary.

The combat isn't particularly evolved and the game itself isn't exactly challenging. I personally played on Apocalyptic and would recommend others do the same. There were a surprising amount of puzzles, invariably utilizing some recently acquired gadget. These items are often necessary for collectibles, but rarely are required in areas beyond which they were designed.

If I had to summarize my experience with this game I would say this: It starts very strong, but begins to struggle in the end. There are enough "awesome" moments that keep you engaged through the ~15 hours but the repetitious challenge/puzzle formula, shallow improvement system, and anticlimactic ending make for a mediocre finish.

I still recommend the game. It was quite an enjoyable adventure and I'm looking forward to seeing more of this stylish world in Darksiders II.

The Binding of Isaac is one of those games that grows on you. The first time I played Isaac I remember being frustrated and felt that I wasted two dollars. I never bothered to play beyond the basement. It's difficult for me to pinpoint what initially put me off from Isaac, but I chalk up my ignorance to an inability to progress. I didn't enjoy losing and quickly concluded the game was simply not for me.

A couple years later one I was introduced to a livestreamer named LethalFrag. He often loaded up Binding of Isaac; one of his favorite games. While playing he often spoke highly of Isaac's replayability, soundtrack, and addictive gameplay. His praise helped me realize that Isaac deserved another look; and now I couldn't agree more with his assessment.

To appreciate The Binding of Isaac I needed to make some progress and unlock items. Dying stopped being so horrible as I faced each challenge and overcame them step by step. I understood that it was perfectly acceptable to lose; that's just part of the process. The trick was to pick myself up and learn from my mistakes. From there I was able to immerse myself in the gameplay.

I've now logged over one hundred hours into the original Binding of Isaac and Wrath of the Lamb. I still find myself coming back for more. With the release of Rebirth I play the original far less often, but the newest "Eternals" update has got me back for what I expect will be another 100+ hours.

TL;DR: The Binding of Isaac is unquestionably the best investment I've ever made on Steam. There's still plenty to appreciate, though Rebirth is now a much smoother experience.

My line of thinking for this game:

I'll only play for a couple hours till I get the cards.
Oh, heck, might as well get these easy achievements.
These little dungeon exams are actually kind of cool...
My demon boyfriend just did what?? Nu-uh, not on my watch.
...
5 hours later, all achievements complete, I put on my robe and wizard hat. Don't ♥♥♥♥ with me ♥♥♥♥♥, I'm the mightiest sorceress of the lands.
