The game experiments with new mechanics instead of sticking to traditional strategy game overlays and mechanics. Very good gameplay and immersive storyline.

You get a great story that is untold in-between missions and in radio conversations with your troops, specifically platoon leads, that will leave you with a sense that these are real people in real combat. The game handles really well the idea of commanding troops kilometers while still having an emotional connection to the characters even though you will never see them.

Additionally the gameplay is very solid with real time gameplay that will give you a solid feeling on the sluggish combat that was vietnam. The implementation of support elements like Artillery and CAS really feels like the combat is alive and that you are responsible for the lives of these men. The game also has an option to turn on the most realistic settings so that you have to manually plot your units with the grid references in your man, radio malfunctions and tricky terrain and vegetation that will weaken the radio signal between you and your troops.

Overall a very solid game
