Crapcom punished the consumers by sneaking in an intrusive DRM two years after its launch. (They already had Denuvo but replaced it with Enigma a few days ago.) They also likely did it to Rise first to test the waters as adding it into World would create a much larger outrage.

TL;DR consumers get screwed over and you shouldn't give them your money

Good game but it gets a negative review for sneaking in MTX two weeks after launch.

Like everyone said, it runs like ♥♥♥♥. Even with all my settings set to low and resolution lowered to 1080, it still stutters nonstop with frames dipping as low as 5 FPS.

(Bought this game on PS4 and got it again when it went on sale)
If I had to use a single sentence to describe this game, it would be "Wide as an ocean, deep as a puddle". At first glance, the world's size and stunning visuals are absolutely incredible but past that you'll realize just how joyless it is to explore. Past a certain point the movement speed is particularly tiresome as it often fluctuates between an agonizingly slow walk and a run that makes trekking the overworld bearable. Cities in particular are incredibly frustrating as they slow your horse’s speed to a crawl once you are within their radius. The sidequests are little more than something you would see out of an MMO paired with shoddy voice-acting, ugly facial animations and repetitive tasks that are usually "kill x" and come back. All of these inconveniences only serve to make the game more of a chore. You’ll quickly realize, just as I did, that everything about this game is designed to waste your time.

Past the prologue each story mission is purposely stretched out just a few levels above your own so that you'll be forced to grind to continue. If you don't want to spend hours grinding, Ubisoft has a solution (to a problem created specifically for you to need it). For hardcore players, this isn't a huge issue since they don't mind grinding- but it wasn't intended for hardcore players. This predatory practice was intended for casual players. Combat in this game does not make grinding fun at all. There is no intricate and varied combat system to reward practice and mastery developed through grinding, it’s just a mediocre, sluggish, and buggy system coupled with jarring animations. The character moves and acts like a diseased leper that shat its pants but desperately wants to cover it up so that nobody notices. Stealth is no longer a one-hit kill; you'll often be forced to either engage in godawful combat or use vanish and wait for the braindead AI to finally ♥♥♥♥ off.

Finally, the parkour. The ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ parkour. One of the quintessential elements of the franchise is no longer a thing. You can now scale any surface without a thought and since gameplay is mostly comprised of riding on your horse from A to B across long stretches of land, you'll no longer be engaging in what is, in my opinion, the most fun aspect of Assassin's Creed. This tedious time-sink of a game is just another unimaginative product rolled out by Ubisoft as they continue to cash in on an IP that should’ve died several entries ago, only further sullying what was once a top-tier franchise.

Ahhh... yes indeed.
It is called Dranlordleich... home to the cathedral swamp. A land made up of only swamps and cathedrals...

Here the ancient god old-sad-man-with-a-sword ruled over a non-descript race of "gods" (humans but bigger). But then... there came the humans (midgets) and they all turned soul-starved/hollowed/blood-drunk/unkindled/japanese OOoOoOOOooO!!!

Now, the 4 lords have roused from their sleep... Gimmick-fight the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, guardian of 60,000 free souls. Twinktrap the magical, unrivaled in her (his) powers. Gumbor, who ruled an entire kingdom/church despite being a gigantic monster incapable of speech or long-term planning. And of course, k***ht in armor #3647, so easily forgotten...

Now, lowly tarnished... follow the bonfirestoneidollamps, drink from thy grasstusbloodgourd, and fight sad-old-man to get the ending that makes no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sense unless you read the descriptions of the panties of yore you get from slaying an NPC caked in flourescent cranberry juice.

Ah... yes.. indeed...
Indeed yes....
