Early Access Review
Platform: Oculus Quest 2 & SteamVR Index

Rating: 4.5/5

"Zenith: The Last City" is a breathtaking journey into a VR world that seamlessly blends fantasy and technology. As someone who's experienced it on both the Oculus Quest 2 and SteamVR Index, I can confidently say this game is a must-play for VR enthusiasts.

On the Oculus Quest 2: The game performs admirably, offering an immersive and responsive experience. The wireless freedom of the Quest 2 adds an extra layer of physicality to the gameplay, allowing for uninhibited exploration of Zenith's vast world. The graphics, while slightly toned down compared to high-end PC VR, still amaze with their vibrancy and detail.

On the SteamVR Index: Here is where "Zenith: The Last City" truly shines. The visual fidelity is outstanding, with razor-sharp stylized textures and lighting effects that bring the fantasy world to life. The Index's superior tracking and comfortable ergonomics enhance the combat and exploration, making every movement feel natural and intuitive.

Gameplay: Regardless of the platform, the gameplay is where "Zenith" excels. The combat system is engaging, requiring strategy and skill rather than mere button-mashing. The variety of weapons and magic spells keeps encounters fresh and exciting. Quests are thoughtfully designed, offering a blend of storytelling, combat, and exploration that keeps you hooked for hours.

Social Interaction: The multiplayer aspect is a standout feature. Joining forces with players worldwide for quests or just exploring the cityscape together adds a wonderful social dimension to the game.

Final Thoughts: "Zenith: The Last City" is a triumph in VR gaming. It sets a high bar for what's possible in immersive VR experiences. Whether you're playing on the Quest 2 for its wireless freedom or enjoying the unparalleled visual fidelity of the SteamVR Index, this game is an unmissable adventure in a beautifully crafted virtual world.

Purchased deluxe version of game, won't run on any of my machines, just prompts up their support link that goes to a blank landing page. Knowledge base offers no related support and their Twitter accounts are non support based. It was already controversial enough that they run Dunovo a well known performance impacting tool that often punishes paying customers and has alleged concerns of being flagged as spyware by popular AV tools. Would have loved to enjoy this game but I can't justify recommending to people a game that simply has zero support service and also look beyond Dunovo which is likely what is causing my inability to play as a normal paying customer. Game Refunded.

"Life Is Strange" is a groundbreaking title in the realm of narrative-driven games, seamlessly blending the 'choose your own adventure' style with the intriguing mechanic of time manipulation. This game isn't just about making choices; it's about understanding the weight and consequences of those choices.

Storytelling & Narrative: The storytelling in "Life Is Strange" is nothing short of brilliant. It crafts a deeply emotional and immersive narrative that draws you in from the very beginning. The game's ability to allow players to alter time and change the outcomes of their decisions adds a unique layer of depth and complexity. You're not just playing a character; you're shaping their world and their fate, making the story intensely personal and engaging.

Gameplay Mechanics: The time manipulation mechanic is executed flawlessly, adding a novel twist to the genre. It encourages experimentation and exploration of different outcomes, yet reminds players that time is fickle, and every choice has its ripple effects. This mechanic enriches the gameplay, making each decision feel significant and impactful.

Immersion & Ethical Dilemmas: "Life Is Strange" excels in creating an immersive experience that draws players into its world. The game presents you with challenging situations where your ethics and values are tested. These moments are thought-provoking, often leaving you pondering the moral implications of your choices long after you've made them.

Artistic Presentation & Soundtrack: Visually, the game is a treat with its unique art style that complements the story's mood and tone. The soundtrack deserves special mention for its exceptional selection of music that beautifully enhances the emotional resonance of the game.

Performance on Steam: On Steam, "Life Is Strange" performs seamlessly, with smooth gameplay and no significant issues. The game's interface and controls are intuitive, making it accessible to both seasoned gamers and those new to this style of gaming.

Final Thoughts: "Life Is Strange" is a must-have for any gamer's Steam library. It's a game that transcends typical gaming conventions, offering an experience that's not only entertaining but also intellectually and emotionally stimulating. If you're seeking a game that combines exceptional storytelling, innovative gameplay, and the power to evoke deep thought and emotional reflection, "Life Is Strange" is an unparalleled choice.

A pleasant addition to the Telltale collection, this game extends the story of Game of Thrones. You'll get different perspectives from different roles in the GoT world. You will find yourself facing different decisions that can impact how challenging your role will become. A must have addition to your steam library.

I have to admit, I was a bit worried about grabbing this game and giving it a go with the reviews all over the board. I am typically not a huge fan of horror games or really anything that tries to toy with my emotions *GAWD DAMNIT IM FRAGILE OK!* Anyways after a disappointingly short two and a half hours of play I can say that as a game, it was beautiful. Should it have been longer, YES, was it scary, no, not really but I was expecting it to be. What this game does is goes beyond its peers of its genere and immerses you in the body and mind of a child with a teddy companion. You explore a world from their perspective and are left with a storyline involving a serious issue that is often lurking in the shadows.

Nothing like entering a world where crazy people are occupying an island and you got to hunt, sneak and kill your way to the end. Deeper immersion could have been adding food / water survival aspects to all the collecting on the island. This is a great game to play and the story is worth the time invested.
