Early Access Review
It's pretty janky, but that jankiness adds to the amazing atmosphere that oozes out of this little gem. This game feels like a horror version of Payday 1 without guns, and you hunting ghosts.

A pretty fun roguelite that will have you coming back for more. Maybe not as much depth as some of the others out there, but you should get a good 10-20+ hours of fun out of it. Each character starts with a different weapon and special skill, and after a run, you can spend the tokens you've collected to unlock more weapons/characters. After awhile most runs will become quite repetitive, but up to that point I had a blast.

I'm so torn on this game. What is does good, it does great, but what it fails at it fails at hard.

The score/setting/characters/story were all amazing. There was a point in the game I had to do something that made me feel as rotten as I did on Walking Dead, and I was so attached to the moment. The ending was epic, and during this 3 hours session I couldn't stop playing. During each session I started, I had to force myself to stop playing. There was a decent variance in enemy types (in an ~8 hour game), each with their own strengths, where you had to use the many weapons/attacks you gain to defeat them. I was surprised at how much the story sucked me in. I tried to ignore it at points, but it really drove the narrative well, and was mind-blowingly shocking at points.

The game is LOADED with sections where someone is talking to you, and you're forced to walk slowly through the environment. I can't tell you how annoying this is. Also, this gorgeous world is extremely linear, and right out pisses me off at points. This is really evident during the platforming sections. The rhythm-based fights and combo-building was fun when I got the hang of it, but it wasn't overly deep.

Overall, this game was a conglomeration of great ideas, some executed really well, but some completely missed their mark. It really feels like one development team started the game, for some reason it got shelved, and another team picked it up, and wasn't able to keep the same vision, and rushed it out to market with a "good enough" attitude.

If the game interests you, add it to your wishlist, and look for a sale. For Me the good things really outweighed the bad, and I will Remember this game for some time.
