After spending to much time in this game, I can't recommend it definitely not the versus game mode. have enjoyed playing FS games ever since playing VT1 in 2016, and fell in love with VT2 release in 2018-2019 fully devoting my time in 2020 onwards, the mechanics and in depth skill that can be acquired I have not seen in a long time in such a game.

However with the release of Versus mode FS showing the lack of ability to understand there own game and how to balance whilst punishing people who use broken mechanics when they have had over a year almost to fix it through there previous alphas, banning dedicated players of the community for using there bad game mechanics is fundamentally wrong. It is a disappoint to see the game turn to this now, the new game mode could of been great fun giving a fresh feel to the game but seeing how they act towards the player base is a shame and disrespectful, this game mode needed a long time with proper alpha testing for bugs and exploits, but no FS couldn't be asked doing any of this but would instead gladly release it half done with exploits still in the game since alpha 1.
You have actual cheaters running around infinite ult spamming, infinite hp can ban avoid very easily as such they don't get banned but god forbid you hook someone out of bounds whether it be on accident or purpose so many people run around doing this yet they only target few of them and leaving the others unpunished this system isn't justice or right. I have seen enough from other people who have played this game how they handled toxicity and sweep it under the rug when it comes to popular names of the community abusing, and being toxic in chat, I won't be saying any names as it is pointless and I am not here to smack names against the wall I know who them people are^^.

I say this to warn others the game is amazing but deep down it has it's big issues which don't get addressed and are left, as a result this in the long run hurts the dedicated players that have kept this game alive through it's dark patches when they release Darktide an utter mess and still is.

I have played the alpha/beta of DT and only now is it finally becoming an actual game, almost two years just to get Darktide on it's feet just to see Vermintide 2 suffer and now they use resources on a game mode that was a breath of fresh air but left a very bad taste in my mouth after seeing it progress and the steps Fatshark has taken which haven't improved it since it's first alpha 1, the mode is still in alpha and don't expect it to leave alpha for the next year, and forget trying to grind the rank system it is a waste of time as they only increase xp gain each level making it a slug fest to even get pass rank 150 which only gets worst. I am impressed they can make a game mode that takes more grind that Weaves does with little to no reward only a banner next to your portrait which doesn't mean much as skill in this game isn't measured by rank but individual knowledge and play time alongside a couple portrait frames which also take ages to grind but yet the game mode needs a lot more time to improve before it can be enjoyable to grind.

Which reminds me to address the 2nd issue versus is the game mode is not meant for new people yet it has brought over 10k players back, majority of them all being new only to join a game against a 4 stack that crush them, making them inevitable not want to play again, way to kill of your new game mode, versus mode has helped populate Vermintide 2 but for how long? The game can't use a matchmaking system the community is to small and will only shrink by day with the many issues this game mode has, Fatshark have messed up and they do this a lot what keeps people like me playing so long is the in depth mechanics and skill level that can be achieved keeping you hooked, but I am now finally over this game for now until they either put versus in a good balance which I expect it will happen eventually but see how long the playerbase lasts as it punishes new players with the current balance and matchmaking or if they release new weave seasons which is the only end game content I have enjoyed for years.

I have said what I wanted to say once again it's been a blast hope you enjoy your time playing, I have met some great people helping and being helped but I can't recommend this game anymore if your getting into it cus of versus^^.

This review I haven't phrased the best in if your getting this game to play only versus then I won't recommend it one bit, but if your getting vermintide 2 to experience the adventure mode which is the mode I recommend everyone to play when new as it teaches you the fundamentals of this game and how it works, then yes this game is amazing and I am sure you will love it if you like hack and slash games as this game delivers and goes above with such in depth game play.

However I won't recommend versus it is just yet another half baked game mode released with so many flaws that should of been fixed in the alphas which they haven't done, I am sure over time it will get better as that is one thing Fatshark does good is over time it gets better but the constant half baked content they deliver with new game modes/ new games releases like Darktide it is hard to recommend as you will be disappointed.
