A great danmaku-style game which is also somewhat of a dual stick shooter (when using a controller), with interesting upgrades, and an actual rather well presented plot to boot. Discovering the lore alongside your seemingly amnesiac protagonist is a nice twist to a typical bullet-hell/manic shooter.
It does require a lot of runs to be able to get a good build, and you're not always guaranteed to get it even mid-game.
Also the coding/programming theme is a nice take in my opinion, and I appreciate the humor.

Art/Graphics: 10/10

I've played the original and the new mode and items add a lot more fun/challenge.
Overall can't wait for multiplayer. This can only go up.

A 2.5D hack n' slash with some deep lore. Combat is satisfying with the right weapon ROMs. The atmosphere and graphics are great, as expected from the devs of VA11-HALL-A. Loads of secrets to find if you want to get all the achievements. As long as you put some time into it, it will definitely pay off. 10/10.

Amazing roguelite danmaku-like game. Easy to pick up whenever you want.
Graphics: Very neon, cyber style. Not too overwhelming at all {see note below}
Gameplay: Can get rapid but it is as accepted for a dual stick bullet hell.
Roguelite Elements: Dying is of no concern since defeating bosses and investing in the right outposts will make future runs far easier,
Favorites: Combinations of captains. This really ensures a good run.
Note: Flashing lights, very fast paced, a very good fit for fellow ADD or ADHD players. It's easy to pick up the game if you want a small break,
