Early Access Review
if you like SDV, you will like FoM. I look forward to every friday at the inn; the characters are just that charming. Content for the current price is plenty and I didn't run into any bugs yet - besides the one you have to collect 🤭
Can't wait to see what else will be added !

overall pleasant experience, just like I remembered. It's still the same games and stuff that was a hassle back then still is (ME 1 survey of planets.. did I really check them or not.. huge empty planets and I still need to check every debris spot because I might miss something ^^ )

runs smooth for me, no crashes or major bugs that made it impossible to play (only had the bug where I couldnt enter the mako again.. but I am only 5% into ME2, if I experience more, I'll update)

So if you never played the game before, the world building, story telling etc is superb, even by today's standard. the amount of dialogue, the mass of information about species, technology .., the lil side quests, everything helps to create such a vivid world imho. by the end of ME1 you will feel that connection to your team, to the world, to your character no other game before or after managed for me.

and for everyone that already played the game: as I said, still the same games in a more polished look and faster loading and maybe less bugs. don't regret buying it nonetheless.

Very immersive ARG - a lot of different puzzles and challenges. The Community is very helpful and if you are stuck they have hints in the forums. I really like the research parts and all the websites they build for it.

Really enjoyed the game. Interacting with the people in game was entertaining, even if it is a really unbelievable scenario (finding a phone and starting a detective search for the person that lost the phone? suuuuure ^^)
the acting was fine and I really started to feel bad for some of the people I talked to. The puzzles were challenging enough but not too hard.
I recommend it to everyone, that likes a slightly creepy and disturbing story but doesn't need to be on the edge of their seat the whole time.

edit: after some updates it is finally working :)
will update my review after playing it !

currently unplayable for me because of a bug - game starts fine until you have to choose detective or journalist. Afterwards it's just pitch black. their patches didn't fix anything. switching settings does nothing. can't get my money back (only 15 min play time and trying to get it to run) because I bought SIMULACRA 2 in a bundle with the first one - guess what, I wanted to play the first part before doing the second, hence why I am over the playtime for a refund..
so yeah, at this point it's a big no from me.

TL;DR: Go for it, if you are a sucker for augmentation, cyberpunk stuff, dystopia and point-and-click and look for some short game inbetween .. (maybe wait for a discount tho)

I really enjoyed this game, especially the voice acting and the look and feel of it. But I have to say it's rather short - one playthrough took me maybe 2,5 h - the rest of my current depicted playtime was the game running in pause :/
The puzzles are not difficult at all and there are a lot of hints told by your char if your are stuck as well. ("No I don't need to go there, No I have to do this first")

I liked that your choices influence your augmentations, maybe a second and third playthrough will show some difference in the story and developement of it. But right after finishing the game I won't probably start a new run.

fun game for inbetween, but can also be quite challenging. I enjoy the survival part more than the scavenging in 60 secs stuff at the beginning.

As much as I want to like the game, I can't recommend it. I was looking for a mystery and great puzzles, but I got a game that kinda hold my hand throughout the game, told me almost every step I have to take ("Let us now try and get our little grey cells to work" grrrrr) The part where you combine the clues is no challenge, at the end if you really can't figure it out you can trial and error through these points. The Recreations of the murders are so simple, not getting it right the first time trying seems impossible.
Most of the time you go to places and look at stuff. Interacting with objects is rare (imho) and I kinda missed a real detective feeling when doing so.
The Dialouge is fine and how you have the chance to play Poirot either a bit snarky or more charming.
The graphics are nice, but not overwhelmingly good, people act a bit stiff in their motions but that doesn't phase me that much tbh.
At the end I have to say I was bored most of the time (5h) during this game(and I really just wanted to finish the game so I didn't have another undone one in my library) and I am glad I got it on sale.

Hilarious, entertaining. playing this with my 9y/o and he is having a blast - even if there are times when we hinder eachother more than help, it's really a great and fun game

Really liking the puzzles, the atmosphere, the characters and the stories.
Some minor graphic glitches occured, some hilarious even, but overall I don't mind the look, I especially like
the video parts.
And well, the summer sale price was a catch anyway
