Hollow Knight captures something beautiful about the modern gaming experience, not just looking at the game itself but also the development team behind the game in how they handle the updates to the game. Hollow Knight is a relatively simple Metroidvania style game, which traditionally is something I'm not a fan of, however the world that Team Cherry have built, creating a cute bug environment that is somewhat haunted by a deep past referred to throughout the story of the game. The world itself feels lived in, and not just built around the protagonist.
The music of the game, composed by Christopher Larkin, is evocative and perfectly suits the themes and tone of each environment or character. The most striking moment of both sound and music, for me, was the catacombs area which ruined my whole day, due to the excessive creepiness portrayed.
Team Cherry have also been incredibly active with the community and have constantly been introducing updates with both new content and fixes to any small issues within the game.
100% recommend!
