I really liked the overall style and theme of this game, the tone was fantastic.
The biggest problem I have with it is that there just wasn't enough of it.

The actual gameplay seems like it's going to be so much more complex than it really is to play. Using the CCTV, petting the cat, having the ability to turn the radios on or off, listening to the passengers- There are so many small gameplay choices adding up that feel like they'll be part of some greater depth. Maybe something will only be visible on the CCTV and you have to keep the cursor on it while you drive? Maybe if the radios are on they'll start playing threatening messages through the static in certain areas and reduce your sanity really fast if you don't turn them off? Maybe if you don't look at something, it'll smash the window open or knock the bus into the other lane?
Noticing little details like how the gauge and messages when you interact with it keep track of your sanity, or how it recovers when you're near a lit stop or light source, just further added to the feeling that there would be more depth to the game.

Reaching the ending felt jarringly abrupt- Which may have been the intent, but it left me wanting more. Replaying it to get the other endings was interesting at first but quickly soured as it took multiple tries repeating the same process to actually get the ending to hit or an achievement to unlock.

I honestly feel like there is a lot of potential for an incredible game here if there was simply more to it and it was a bit more polished.
It's pretty great for what it is and the price is reasonable. I just wish there was more of it.

Early Access Review
Updating my review a few months and nearing a hundred hours later: This is an extremely niche interest game being created by a passionate team of developers that has absolutely stolen my heart. If you've ever played a game like Arma where framedrops or sudden low framerates are normal than you can ignore all the performance complaints, it's really not that bad. Just play with the settings and experiment with the ones in the bottom right to see which works best.

The actual gameplay is confusing but incredibly satisfying. It's a loop of trying to figure out where the tornado will touch down, using your camera to identify where it is and where it's going, then trying to rush to an intercept point along the roads and drop a probe down. If you do it right and the tornado goes directly over the probe number goes up in the bottom right and you get a fresh rush of happy chemicals in the brain. It's nice.

Most of the issues I used to have with the game have since been addressed and a functional party/group system has been added. The developers are incredibly transparent and active in their own discord and the game has a (mostly) friendly and mature playerbase.

In it's current state, if you're even remotely interested in storm chasing or tornadoes or just obscure simulator games- it's a fantastic time.

This game may have stolen three hours of my life, but the nightmares it's given me will last forever.

For the price is free? Absolutely worth it.
There are a few issues like not being able to adjust the FOV or disable head bobbing if you're someone who gets motion sick, but overall the story seems interesting and there are some fantastic subtle details in it.

I wanted to like this game. I really, REALLY, did. But between the controls, the forced fish-eye effect, and the general blurriness while trying to find subtle details it just made me feel like throwing up. It would be nice if they added some kind of toggle-able setting for the fisheye effect and the ability to fully disable mouse acceleration.

The game is very short, and I'd say has little to no replay value at all. The atmosphere is pretty great and while the controls feel kind of twitchy, it's not bad. It's a linear story and your actions (or inactions) don't change anything no matter what you try. It's an interesting little 30 minutes or so of game, but feels kind of like there was more planned to it that just never happened. Certain events such as feeding the cat, slowing down when the father asks you to, having not touched the bottle at all and keeping your eyes on the road as the mother asks you to feel like they're meant to have some kind of decision or consequence, but from my experience trying, they don't.

The message behind the game is good and I appreciate it for what it is, but I wish it was more than just that.
I hope my $2 goes to a can of tuna for a cat.

Single player's okay.
Multiplayer's fun- If you have friends to actually play it with. You can play just about everything (at least everything you'd want to) in a private lobby with friends only allowed in it. That finally does a lot to mitigate the issues with attention-seeking children using hacks to make the game unplayable for you. But it does come with the caveat that unless you have a group to play with already you may struggle to find anyone to play with. Wandering out into the world of public lobbies... Introducing Battleeye has definitively and clearly helped, just not quite enough.

If you can get it for $15 or less and have friends to play with or are only interested in single player, absolutely worth it. Otherwise wait for the sales to hit.

Can not recommend buying this game until they make it reliably playable, which so far it isn't. At best it's unreliably playable. At worst it's completely unplayable. Whichever person(s) made the decision to make the game online-only should be replaced.

If you're lucky enough to have not had the game spoiled for you yet and enjoy horror (or televised puppet shows) I absolutely and wholeheartedly recommend this game. It's become one of my all time favorites already. It's clear that the developers put a lot of love and effort into it. That the unlockable "cheats" do not seem to disable achievements is icing on the cake, and makes replaying the game much more enjoyable. The many easter eggs to discover certainly don't hurt either.
