The DLC itself is great, however the 4.0 patch is the bad side of this. 4.0 does not feel ready to ship nor feature complete. It feels like the developers had a bit off more then they can chew. Granted 4.0 was retooling the entire game and 9 years worth of content updates in a single patch but it wasn't going to be perfect. Everything has little issues and not enough time was dedicated to address all the issues. The promised performance gains are not present if not worse performance overall though more testing would be required. Again when I says this. This DLC Is great in concept but the PATCH made the game into an unfinished mess. If you want examples the Luminary from Under One Rule Origin does not get a destiny trait and their special traits have more dashes then Information present. On a side note 4.0 pretty much ruins the point of specialized leaders for the sake of simplicity. An entire expansion was dedicated to them and that is now practically been muted.

It does what is says on the tin. It's shovel DLC that adds a shovel.

If Civilization 5 isn't launching after the recent update where they removed the 2k launcher do the following.
1. Go to your steam library
2. Right click on the game
3. Click on properties
4. Click on installed files
5. At the top right of the window you will see the location of installed files, click on the browse
6. In the directory right click on either executable you wish to run. CivilizationV.exe or CivilizationV_DX11.exe
7. Click on properties
8. Click on compatibility
9. Enable compatibility mode with windows 8 or 7 mode
10. Click apply
11. Run the game through the selected executable in the folder not the play button through steam.
12. Enjoy

It has been reported that this additional function might help with making the game run with some individuals.

In the compatibility screen with step 8, enable run as administrator. This should also help with getting the game to run.

Overall very good story content and fun mechanics to mess with. The Grand Archive Megastructure is very helpful and beneficial through a campaign. Kind wish they did a different looking model besides a bowl shape, but it works pretty well. The new relics are very good overall, still wish we could do Relic wars. New mid game crisis adds more content for the mid game.

All around okay little thing, its very much optional content which is both a good and a bad thing. Good as its not required to play but bad as in it dosent really add anything that sticks out besides the storm system. Is it fun? yeah it adds more things to do while waiting for things to build and stuff but that's pretty much it. Could it be expanded upon in the future by the Custodian Team, yeah everything eventually does. But as it stands on 9/11/2023. The content within I would suggest grabbing when on sale or buy the season 8 pass which lets you get all dlcs for the year cheaper then it would to buy individually.

Would only recommend it to those that want more Stellaris or just want more things to do in the game. Elsewise just buy when on sale.

Honestly the most stable update and perhaps one of the best expansions to Stellaris. Will update my review with more playtime with the machine age.

One of the few games I would recommend without a hint of doubt.

Funniest thing I ever seen

Refreshing to play a game that feels feature complete rather then a broken mess that most game release as.

A fantastic game compared to how it was release. You would have a fun time when playing this game.
