Condemned: Criminal Origins is a masterpiece of horror and suspense, delivering an experience that is both deeply immersive and profoundly unsettling. Playing it on the Steam Deck enhances this experience, blending the game's gripping narrative with the handheld device's versatility and performance.

**Atmosphere and Storytelling**
From the moment you step into the shoes of FBI agent Ethan Thomas, you are thrust into a dark, foreboding world where every shadow hides a threat. The game's atmosphere is impeccably crafted, with decrepit environments and chilling sound design that keep you on edge. The story is a compelling mix of psychological horror and detective work, with twists and turns that keep you engaged throughout.

**Gameplay Mechanics**
The combat in Condemned: Criminal Origins is visceral and raw, focusing heavily on melee encounters that feel intense and satisfying. The game's emphasis on using improvised weapons from the environment adds a layer of realism and immediacy to each encounter. Investigative gameplay, where you gather forensic evidence to piece together the mystery, is well-integrated, providing a break from the heart-pounding combat and deepening the immersion.

**Performance on Steam Deck**
Playing Condemned: Criminal Origins on the Steam Deck is a revelation. The handheld device handles the game with ease, providing smooth performance and crisp visuals. The controls are responsive, and the Steam Deck's display brings the game's dark, atmospheric environments to life. Whether you’re playing in handheld mode or docked to a larger screen, the Steam Deck delivers a seamless experience that enhances the game's already gripping qualities.

**Portability and Convenience**
One of the standout aspects of playing on the Steam Deck is the portability it offers. Being able to dive into the haunting world of Condemned: Criminal Origins wherever you are adds a new dimension to the horror experience. The convenience of quick saves and the ability to pause and resume gameplay effortlessly make it perfect for both long sessions and shorter bursts of play.

**Final Thoughts**
Condemned: Criminal Origins is a timeless classic in the horror genre, and playing it on the Steam Deck is nothing short of exceptional. The game's atmosphere, story, and mechanics are all top-notch, and the Steam Deck's capabilities elevate the experience to new heights. If you're a fan of horror games and looking for a deeply immersive, portable experience, Condemned: Criminal Origins on the Steam Deck is a must-play.

When I first jumped into Hell Let Loose, I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect. I’ve played my share of first-person shooters, but this one felt different right from the start. It’s not just a game; it’s a raw, unfiltered dive into the chaos of WWII.

The first thing that hit me was the scale. These aren’t your typical small skirmishes; Hell Let Loose drops you into sprawling, beautifully rendered battlefields that feel alive. From the muddy trenches of Sainte-Marie-du-Mont to the bombed-out ruins of Foy, the maps are packed with historical detail. It’s clear the developers poured a ton of love into getting the environments just right.

What really sets this game apart, though, is its emphasis on teamwork. Lone wolves beware—this isn’t the kind of game where you can rack up kills and carry your team. You need to communicate, strategize, and play your role. Whether you’re a rifleman holding a defensive line or a commander juggling squad orders and artillery strikes, every player matters.

One of my most memorable moments was manning a tank with two strangers. None of us knew each other, but in that match, we worked like a well-oiled machine, covering advances and holding choke points. It wasn’t about racking up kills; it was about executing a strategy and feeling like a small part of a massive war effort.

That said, Hell Let Loose isn’t without its flaws. The learning curve is steep. New players might feel overwhelmed by the complexity of the mechanics and the lack of traditional hand-holding. Communication is key, but it’s also one of the game’s weak spots—if your team doesn’t use voice chat, you’re in for a frustrating experience. And let’s not forget the occasional bugs and performance issues that can pull you out of the immersion.

But for me, those quirks are part of its charm. Hell Let Loose doesn’t try to be polished or easy; it wants you to feel the weight of war—the confusion, the camaraderie, the chaos. And when everything clicks, it’s unlike any other shooter out there.

If you’re looking for a fast-paced, run-and-gun experience, this probably isn’t the game for you. But if you want to lose yourself in a truly immersive WWII battlefield and experience the highs and lows of large-scale warfare, Hell Let Loose is an absolute must-play.

Rating: 8.5/10
A gritty, teamwork-focused shooter that captures the soul of WWII, even if it occasionally stumbles on the technical front.

While Tripwire does little to evolve the game from its predecessor, The Killing Floor 2 is still great fun to play,

A brilliant game that may turn away some beginners due to its steep learning curve, but stick with it and you’ll be rewarded with an intense squad-based shooter that gives Battlefield a run for its money. It also serves as a cheerful reminder to me that I’d be as useless in a real firefight as I have expected.

This game was/is created by the community. It is a complex, but rewarding game. The learning curve is steep, but worth it.
